Watch: Tamayo Perry // Pipeline

In honour of Tamayo Perry, who was killed in a shark attack earlier this week, Mike Latronic from Hawaii's Freesurf magazine has gathered a bunch of Tamayo's better waves, all surfed at Pipeline or Backdoor.

The shifting graininess and resolution of the clips speaks to Tamayo's longevity. Through film to first gen digital to 4K, the camera tech leaping forward over the years, Tamayo kept up his seemingly timeless act. Dropping in deep on a spear-like Bushman, subtle speed management through the bottom turn, then a straight line run behind the curtain and out to the channel.

I have to tell you Stu the advertisement that covers the screen when you are trying to watch the video is so shit it’s not worth watching shithouse

OK, but just as a heads up. The video was made by Freesurf magazine and hosted on YouTube.

We don't have any control over advertisements.

I don't see them as I subscribe to YT.
