Watch: Shippies Summer Session

Enjoy Kyron's breezy approach to filming as he documents the first Shippies swell of 2025. Take time to adjust to the pace and the delivery. It's something new and Kyron has plans to create more edits like it.

From Kyron:

"We had an absolute corker of day down at Shippies this week. Just the local lads, and lady, going toe to toe on what was a super fun morning down at the Bluff.

"Check out Marti's Third Eye helmet custom-fitted and handmade by Bob Boost of the Shippies safety team.

"Bob suffered a bad head injury a while back fighting fires and knows how important it is to protect your head!

"Huge thanks to the surfers that have to put up with my screaming from the channel."

Really enjoyed this one. Cool seeing the place on more of a 'fun' paddle day without the circus and just the regulars.

Shippies in a spring suit. What's not to like about climate change!!

basesix Tuesday, 18 Feb 2025 at 09:38 am

beaut pace, doesn't make shippies seem tamer, having human moments and no gladiator music. kyron's edits rule. loved the closing shot with marti awkwardly presenting on the back of the ski, haha..

Great close up footage and we didn't even have to sit though 5 minutes of dribble until we saw a wave

Thanks for the links. Look heaps more fitted and snug than a Gath.

I got in touch with him at his third eye helmets instagram account.
Says hes happy to send out the kit with instructions etc. Also suggested contacting Andy as well because im in Victoria but i love the style and colour of Martis helmet and the other ones he had on his account.

Couldn’t of been easier to deal with Bob from Third Eye Helmets. Sent me the kit, sent it back (return express post) and he’ll start making my helmet Monday. Going for one of his trippy resin tints. Stoked!

flip! Bob's a frother then.. anyone gotten an Andy Cap lately? what's the turn around?
(I agree with your tastes @EHN, there's something timelessly tuff as fuck about sticking a bowl on your head and calling it 'I dare you..' from a 1950s archetype biker bully, to Back to the Future Biff's grandson).

If they're like Andy's they're quite warm which is good for where we are, but a consideration when you travel.
