Watch: Ain't That Swell // Crunch Time - McPherson

Possibly just an excuse for a surf trip, Smiv and Deadly take a walk around the Liberals blue ribbon seat of McPherson - AKA the Gold Coast - to gauge the political pulse. Faint as a whisper in many, still surging in the likes of Rabbit Bartholomew.

I liken voting on politics to commercial radio stations. Most just listen/vote for whats the loudest......the whole thing is depressing.

I like to keep a little bit of faith in the voting public but yeah, there's a lot of short-sighted self interest.

Brilliant.

That was fun to watch.

Wonder if Vaughan ever wakes at night and has qualms about collecting cheques from the WSL.

Backed by a billionaire with fossil fuel interests who wanted desperately to bulldoze wetland behind Coolum to build a canal estate and fuel guzzling wave pool.
Corpo reptilian overlord?

Anyway, fun piece of theatre to watch.

Maybe only for a very brief fleeting moment like a bad dream and then it's back to the real world.

Doubt it.

Ain't that Swell have gambling advertising on their poddy's. Which doesn't bother me but kinda goes against everything Jed goes on his rants against.

Exactly, just a fun bit of play acting to watch.

I suppose if you love pro surfing and what it provides to viewers and aspiring kids you'd be prepared to overlook who's pulling the strings at the top.

Taking gambling money for sponsorship is a totally different ballgame and agree that it reeks of hypocrisy. Same with Nate Florence who's gambling sponno'd. These guys needed to fuck that off right now irrespective of whether they're standing on their soapbox or not, they'd still get by just fine without it.

Very well said Mcface. Gambling advertising has infected every sporting code at multiple levels and it’s time it was banned. Like you said, they’d all be fine without it and broader society really doesn’t need it.

Here's hoping he's doing a bit of Trojan horse.

Check out on you tube Adam Stokes who interviews independants(like Dr Andy schmulow, for NSW senate,Robbie Barwick Australian Citizens Party and more) who can make a difference to this 2 party corporate sponsored scam. Get engaged young shredheads , there is a way to beat this political duopoly, dont disengage like they want you to, Like the man says" We dont give up the fight! "
