Easter weekend in Durban looked the goods. Chocolate brown water unravelled its way past the piers as a small group of surfers speed checked their way north.
Great waves, good angles, lots of slo-mo.

Low to mid 20s - prob more mid. You'd be gasping in a steamer.
And incredible waves.

Having surfed that stretch, it’s incredible a sand bottom wave holds up like that, long straight beach interspersed by various piers.
Not a ski in sight, take note Kirra surfers.
Such small numbers in the water, surfing definitely for the ‘haves’ not ‘have nots’ over there

Looks like an incredible bank.
Couple of questions.
What's the water temp at this time of year?
Is the beach netted?

Having spent a year living on that stretch of coast recently, can easily say it's one of the best surf cities (if you can even call the state of Durban a 'city' any more). Waves are super consistent and ripabale, water is always warm, small crowds and locals are very friendly and unpretentious. Only bummer is the occasional spike in ecoli. If the country got it's act together, I'd be back there in a heartbeat. Alas...
