Watch: Tim Bonython // Roaring Shippies

Stu Nettle (stunet)
Reels

From a storm that formed south-west of Australia, deep swell lines travelled the length of the continent, slowy drawing apart till the they struck the southern Tasmanian coast with forerunners measuring upwards of twenty seconds.

West swells aren't usually great for Shippies, but the high period carried enough energy to refract up into the Tasman Peninsula. It also made ten foot waves step as if they were much bigger, presenting extra hazards for the paddlers.

Under clear skies and all-day light winds a group of locals and travellers ripped in.

I thought the Sky Monkey drone shots added interesting context.. same as Tim's shots added a lot to Tucker's last one.. Craig's getting good on the phone, too..
