If you received calls claiming to be from Microsoft technical support,
Please ignore them as Tim did mentioned below and don't do anything they
told you to do.

Microsoft issued the warning regarding this kind of scam calls and Microsoft
Technical Support won't directly call individual to do this kind of things.

Users Problem:

A few nights ago I received a scam phone call from a guy
claiming to be from Microsoft Technical Support. I played
along to find out what he would do. He guided me through the
event log and asked how many red flags there were (quite a few,
which is completely normal, I suppose) and told me my PC was
infected. He passed me onto his manager, a woman, who told me
my Microsoft licence could be extended to fix this, and then of
course she asked for my credit card details.

They claimed to be in Melbourne and I asked for a number to
call. I googled the number and found this:

I don't think they were in Melbourne, I asked about the weather
and they were very vague. The man though it was about 26 C (it
was actually 13 C!).
