Drift surfboard giveaway
We're having a few small tech issues with article comments.. the developers are looking at the problem right now (will hopefully be fixed in the next few hours). However there's still a whole week for the comp to run.
By the way things were going Ben, by the close of the contest you'll have a coupla thousand entries to sift through.
I was on a roll when it freezed up.
Yeah as soon as the first few comments started rolling through I thought 'gawd, what have we got ourselves into'. The surf mags had it so much easier when their competitions were run behind closed doors...
Nevertheless there have been some cracking entries - I've genuinely pissed myself at some of the suggestions.
I couldn't post on the comp site either, so I'll stick here instead...
"Ocean Vibrations" started in 1972.
In the 80s they nearly went bust, victims of changing fashion and the original owners' massive coke bills, but re-emerged under new management as "Vibe-Z", and did a nifty line in neon skate-wear.
In the 90s they did finally go under, but a major chain store bought the "Vibe-Z" name and resurrected the infamous poo-chucking chimp logo. For a while.
An Ocean Vibrations original t-shirt - featuring two dolphins kissing in a rainbow above an empty barreling wave - recently sold on EBay for $150.
I WOULD CALL MY SURF COMPANY"SHAGGY DOG SURF CO".
THE WORD SHAGGY REMINDS ME OF WHAT HAIR STYLES WERE LIKE BACK IN THE EARLY SEVENTIES AND EVERY SURF NUT HAD FRIENDLY DOG AS A COMPANION AND CHICK MAGNET.
