That was the July 2001 swell. Can't remember the name of the vid but wouldn't mind watching it again. Great surfing. Fanning was only about 19 years old, still an unproven grom, and he copped some massive accolades from heavyweights such as Jim Banks and Thornton Fallander for that session.
More recently, Jon Jon in tahiti event last yr- few heats he couldn't score less than a 9 every wave.
