Getting surfboards to Tahiti

Heading over to Tahiti later this year and was wondering if anyone had any experience traveling their boards to Tahiti.

I might even take a short sup (8ft).

Qantas were cagey as on price advising me I can't find out until I get to the check in counter. Reckon there is an issue cause there are two airlines involved. Ok, but I'm not going in blind.

Any input appreciated.

Is it code share with Air Tahiti Nui or Air New Zealand?

i went over on air nz and air tahiti nui , took 2 boards in a 7 foot double bag no issues at all and no extra charges . great place !
