Beginner waves in SE QLD

Hi all

I live in Brisbane and have gotten back into surfing after many years off.

I went to Currumbin Alley today and was able to catch the smaller unbroken waves although my popup is far from smooth

Any suggestions as to the best places up and down the coast to get back into it?

I have a 7'6 board.
