SurferSam started the topic in Thursday, 7 May 2020 at 07:52 pm

Ha ha in the same vibe as my previous thread thought I’d start one about surfboards for old dudes

Thinking of getting this for decent waves

Looking at the 7’ for easy paddle , I’m a bit over 100 kg

Thoughts ? and feel free to share recommendations of anything else

McCoy has been making boards for Older and Bigger surfers for a long time now.The glass SurfAgency ones are fairly priced and well made(overseas).Customs costalotta.
Poxy SA models are not that strong from my experience but they go well.

Murray Burton on the goldy makes great big guy/ old guy boards. Send him an email.

Definitely worth having a chat with Oggy at Yahoo. He makes great boards & is always super helpful.

Oggy's Kelvinator makes small surf fun again. Old blokes are all over them. Everyone is! The fastest board in the West!

Spot on Dale. My favorite & most fun board at the moment is my 5’9” Kelvo. Puts a smile on my dial every surf :-)

Yeah that kelvinator model looks really nice, how's it go on your backhand with the wide tail? I've got something very similar in my quiver, kind of a cross between the kelvinator and a bing dharma v1. Good on the forehand but I struggle a bit sometimes with the wide tail on my backhand. Really have to have my foot in the right spot...

I love surfing on my backhand Terminal. No issues from my perspective.

Nice, it's a really functional looking board

I concur, Rabbit. No issues. Even when stuffing yourself inside little backside nuggets. If anything, it's hard to slow the bugger down!

McCoy for me too.
I’ve been on Geoff’s boards for over 21 years. I was born fat, old and slow so they suit my demographic. A lot of guys surf to a very high standard on his boards though
