Hawaii Flooding

stunet started the topic in Thursday, 11 Mar 2021 at 10:26 am

Significant rainfall across the northern Hawaiian islands has caused a few dams to overflow, among them Kaupakalua Dam located immediately above Jaws, with the torrent destroying six homes on it's way downhill. Entering the ocean at the same gulch Kai Lenny got his PWC drydocked diring the last big swell.

Last night, Haliewa was evacuated as floodwaters poured off the hinterlands.

Footage from Clark Little of Waimea Creek breaking through the beach, and the whole North Shore looking like Wonka's River.

Lows usually don't bring the heaviest rains, its slow moving troughs...

Here you can see the rain forecast up to 24 hours to early yesterday morning, ie Tue AM to Wed AM..

No budgie smugglers to be seen, although we did get a "sick" right at the end.
