Recommendations for QLD based ENT surgeons that treat Surfers Ear

I live in Queensland now and would appreciate any recommendations for QLD based ENT surgeons to treat Surfers Ear. Whilst I don't get ear infections, I have to get my ears cleaned out at the GP at least once per year which has been ok up until this point. The exostosis on my right ear has almost closed over my ear canal completely, the left not as severe. Its a fairly serious op from what I understand and risks with all surgery. I'd be happy just to get the one ear done.
I've had a referral to a local Sunshine Coast ENT specialist from my GP but want to ensure I choose a surgeon that has a track record of performing these types of operations.
Any recommendations and feedback much appreciated!

I have found a few old threads in this forum covering this topic so just after any names of QLD based ENT surgeons I can follow up with, thanks!

I highly recommend Dr Malouf, he did both of my ears. He assured me that I would die of old age before the bone would grow back . I told him I had heard of guys getting the op 2 or even 3 times. He said some surgeons are a little hesitant about how much to drill out . He’s done hundreds of these ops . Best thing I ever did after putting it off for years . https://maloufmedical.com.au/ in Coolangatta just down from big groin kirra

Any know of or had experience with laser surgery in WA?

Talking to some one the other day said they knew some one who had it done and recovery was much faster.

Thanks Supafreak. Like the fact he's confident with the through the ear technique. He's even got a surgery video of the technique on YouTube LOL!! Going to ask my GP to write a up a referral appointment this week.

Yeah , there’s no slicing the ear end to end and folding it forward then a bunch of stitches. My first op took 8 weeks before I was back in the water because of slow healing. The other ear a year later only took 4 weeks to heal . I put this down to a better diet . Good luck mate , definitely worth getting it done .
