Morning Everyone. This is the annual reminder that Parking Charges once again start for the season at Point Leo Foreshore on Saturday the 5th of October. Parking fees are payable every weekend from 5/10 through the Anzac Day long weekend and every day during the summer school holidays. Parking fees are $5 for a day pass, $50 for a season pass sticker or $55 for a transferable pass that you can swap between cars. As we ARE NOT funded by the MPSC their annual car pass is not valid at our reserve. For those of you who are unaware, Point Leo Foreshore is public land that is entirely self-funded. We receive no regular financial assistance from local, state or federal governments. 100% of the money we get from parking and camping is returned back into our park and goes towards helping us manage 50 ha of land, including 3.5 km of beach, 8 toilets, two playgrounds, 30ha of mowed space, campsites, walking tracks, etc. We are managed by a volunteer Committee of Management of 10 local passionate people who donate their time to provide governance and guidance to staff (and a shout out to Phil Trigger, who has been a volunteer Committee member for 42 years). We employ 9 permanent local staff and several casuals. If you have concerns with the parking charges, please do not take your frustrations out on the kids that work in the ticket box; come and chat with me or email me; I am always happy to meet if I am about. Thanks. Ranger Tony
