the only maori surfer i know of is dean morrison and he surfs under AUS. at the end of the day hawaii is an american state and nz is an australian state. ya pakeha!

Hawaii is a US state - like it or not (geopolitically accurate if not morally justifiable). And if I remenber correctly from politics lectures, NZ was involved in the pre-federation discussions along with the australian colonies. At one point it looked like NZ would sign up while WA would not! Imagine that, we wouldn't be able to claim Taj Burrow as one of our own.

Having said that there are more than likely many of them that are actually decent blokes.
And overpricing Indo boat trips with their desire to big note themselves at every oportunity by flashing huge amounts of $US to all the operators of said boats.Therefore making trips out of the price of the average Aussie surfer. Good thing in a way, I guess, as it keeps the crowd down slightly.
