Hi, getting all cams, however i have not been able to get mollymook for months, will this camera be operating at all? Thanks Mick - Mollymook

Craig Tuesday, 18 Jan 2011 at 11:18 pm new

Hi Mick, some of the hardware needs to be replaced at Mollymook, and this should be done in the following few weeks.

nadrohmit Tuesday, 18 Jan 2011 at 11:58 pm new

hi - can't see any cams on firefox or safari. Running firefox 3.6.13 and OSX 10.6.6 on a Macbook pro

cheers

nadrohmit Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 12:00 am new

o, there u go.....disabled hardware acceleration and works now...just goes to show reading the instructions is occasionally a good idea : )

thanks 4 the ongoing awesome service

maggusoil Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 03:47 am new

Thank you nadrohmit, I was having this issue with all cameras all of the time, including all the opposition's cameras but one, if I may be permitted to say, all of the time.
Your solution fixed the whole thing. Now every camera works.
I don't know where you found your info, for me this was a little obscure,
For other inepts like me:-
I right clicked on the video camera screen.
Click on Settings
Got a little Window (Adobe Flash Player Settings) which has a little Screen icon on the bottom left hand side which brings up another window where you can de-check Enable Hardware Acceleration. Solved that one for now.

sundaysax Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 06:29 am new

steve-isles Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 08:22 pm new

Most cams are OK but the Thirroul cam hasn't been usable for some months - is there a problem with this one or has it been rubbed?
Since using Google Chrome I have had more success with the cams. on this and other sites - using XP operating system.

geoffh Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 09:45 pm new

Hi there Swellnet. I can not view the Portsea surfcam, infact have had trouble with it for some time. Occasionally it will work, next time I try it… nothing. But lately I can't get anything at all. Is the problem with the camera itself? or does the issue stem from the current bugs Swellnet seems to experiencing with it's surfcams? Pretty frustrating.
I'm using Mac OS 10.6.6 & Safari 5.0.3
Thanks.

gford44 Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 10:35 pm new

Forgot to say in my last post, that despite not being able to view the Portsea surfcam for some time… I have been able to watch all the recent action on the Snapper Rocks surfcam up in Queensland with no problems at all.

Craig Wednesday, 19 Jan 2011 at 11:18 pm new

Steve and gford, Thirroul and Portsea are not working at the moment due to hardware failures. Hopefully they will be replaced within the coming weeks.

Thanks for your patience.

legendlee7 Thursday, 20 Jan 2011 at 12:59 am new

Hey ya Swellnet, Merry Chrissy and Happy New Year=) I've been having troubles with the Scarborough Surfcam for some time now> and just wondering what is the problem? Is it because I have a Macbook?? I would really like to remedy this as i really like the services you provide. Your surfing Buddy Lee Ballard =)

Craig Thursday, 20 Jan 2011 at 01:02 am new

Lee, try this.

Hold 'control' and click the surfcam player and go into settings. Disable the hardware acceleration and then refresh the page.

This should fix it.

gford44 Thursday, 20 Jan 2011 at 06:37 am new

Thanks for answering my questions/concerns about the Portsea surfcam Craig.
Nice one!

j-p_2 Friday, 21 Jan 2011 at 06:49 am new

i use an imac. Any help would be good. cheers

Craig Sunday, 23 Jan 2011 at 11:54 pm new

BBark, Southport is working fine, are you still having problems viewing the cam?

SVJ, I'll let out tech guy Matt know.

WCSMP, Thirroul is awaiting some hardware replacement so hopefully in the next couple of weeks it's up and running.

Cheeba, What cam is frozen? Newcastle and Coffs were earlier this morning, but I've gone in and kicked them off again. Hopefully it's all good now?

danny-ocean Wednesday, 2 Feb 2011 at 04:09 am new

hey

yeah im having problems as well, bower isnt working on safari
and i cant get any to work on google chrome as well?

sorry about this

thermalben Wednesday, 2 Feb 2011 at 04:13 am new

dukedean, mac and danny-ocean - have you tried disabling your hardware acceleration? it's worked for everyone else so far.

To do this, hold 'control' and click the surfcam player and go into settings. Disable the hardware acceleration and then refresh the page.

vazerhino - not sure why you're experiencing intermittent issues. We're using the same system for every surfcam so you should either have all or none working.

gford44 Thursday, 3 Feb 2011 at 05:24 am new

Hey I see the Portsea surfcam is at long last up & running again. Looking good.

flipper3 Friday, 4 Feb 2011 at 12:00 am new

Does anyone know why the Mollymook surfcam seemingly hasn't been working for months?? It used to be fine, some time ago - I'm on a Mac desktop (OS X 10.5) using Firefox &/or Safari...all other cameras work beautifully, but for ages Mollymook's has just had the black spinning wheel of death....!HELP!

Craig Friday, 4 Feb 2011 at 12:18 am new

Flipper, the Mollymook cam has been down and out of action for a few months.

It's awaiting some hardware replacement in the next couple of weeks.

I live in Ocean Grove, Vic and I have not been able to view vic web cams forever. I can see Qld but not here?!! I have a HP desktop with a windows OP. I can view cams on coastalwatch. What to do?

Craig Monday, 7 Feb 2011 at 11:15 pm new

Jeff, all of the Vicco cams have been offline for a while besides Portsea which has recently had some hardware replaced.

We're testing some new hardware currently and they should be back up and running soon.

Thanks for your patience.

The Southport stream is not working, it says "Stream not found: mp4: Southport"....

perhaps my admin has blocked it....
