The wave of the day does it for me big time. Nice work Steen Barnes , Shaun Anderson and Swellnet.
In one photo you've encompassed everything nice about surfing. If I was a wanker I'd say that it was perfect except for the fact he is in a wetsuit. Which it is , it's perfect .....except for the fact he's in a wetsuit.

I reckon it's a cool shot. (20/6). Especially after reading the caption.
I could picture the bucket on a little excavator gouging the shoreline. Amazing the different ways people see the same thing.

Great photo today. Thanks Stu

Bnkref Tuesday, 27 Jun 2023 at 02:21 pm

Today's looks so good. That spot has had a great run this year.

Is Steve's from yesterday his usual spot? Have seen some crackers from there lately but that one looks too big.

love everything about this shot, the wave, positioning, paddler, wash, onlookers w tripod.. the tap, the council bbq, Make a great painting.
The only ambiguity.. that's not cooking oil, it is sitting with coffee cups.. from the colour, I'm picking Valli Real McCoy pinot gris 2021, or a car piss bottle they've forgotten to tip out.

Nick Bone Friday, 7 Jul 2023 at 12:14 pm

So many good waves in the vicinity of that spot.

Despite having a bro inlay from there ive never been there but as an X landscape gardener i have a decent knowledge of plants so even at distance i can tell where it is by vegetation type, well not exact location or even area but place, as has quite unique native plants.

Its funny how as surfers we can automatically also know where a wave roughly is by all the other aspects like water colours, rocks, landscape and just the lighting etc

GuySmiley Sunday, 23 Jul 2023 at 05:41 pm

Unconvincing bull dust but thanks for laugh @ info

goofyfoot Sunday, 23 Jul 2023 at 06:39 pm

I see where indo’s coming from a little bit.
Seeing photos from South Oz and WA where you can see the same or very similar vegetation as the Peninsula coastline always gives you a bit of clue of the location and what latitude it sits at.

Agreed there’s few places with the land and water colours of SA and the west, but we’re talking about a pic of a NZ wave and headland

You know the funny thing is i was too busy looking at the zoomed in pic that i only just noticed the caption that gives it away.

So now i kind of understanding why Guy is having some weird conversation.

But yeah if you zoom in on the few dark green patches im guessing they are phorium tenax, if you look closely (or as best as can) you can see the thicker strap like blades and all the old growth died off.

Does it matter if Guy believes me or not, no of course not, who cares, but yeah would have been easier to read the caption :D

udo Sunday, 23 Jul 2023 at 08:17 pm

Takes a noice pic does Riddy

eat-your-vegies Sunday, 23 Jul 2023 at 08:55 pm

On it’s day it deserves it name.

I’d kill for an uncrowded point wave like that.

GuySmiley Monday, 24 Jul 2023 at 11:20 am

G’day @info, any idea where’s today’s? Nothing in it to test your horticultural abilities unfortunately hehe

Today's WOTD star, otherwise known as Dusty Rusty, and you can hear him sing and play here.

Beautiful Craig.
(wow, yesterday was dusty rusty? I loved the music in shippies wild things post last month, and went googling, expecting to find a tassie folk-group with a female singer.. found it was a Thomas Tankengine book; a spooonerism for period-sex; a Qld clothing co; and a spunky young hinterland hippy with a love of dogs and an appellation vibe - geat muso!)

Solitude Tuesday, 25 Jul 2023 at 09:09 am
