Albany WA

Gday, I was just wondering if anyone on here has lived or surfed in Albany WA? I have recently been given the opportunity to work/live there and was just wondering if anyone could give me a bit of a heads up as to what the quality/consistency of the surf is like, cheers.

Spot on once again Shaun, Mickfreeblow, you should be ashamed.

wellymon Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 10:11 am new

You been smoking that weed that Patagonia is giving away for free Shauno. (Ad on the Surfcams)..

I could be Mickfree, that would put a spanner in the works eh;)
Probably answer Sheepio's question a while back......

Sheepdog Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 11:01 am new

Nah, welly... You only post when you're in town..... Mick posts when you're off destroying the planet..... Nice try, though...... Sherlock dog knows all...... ;)

You're right mate, I don't reside in Denmark. I did pass through a few weeks ago for a catch up and some waves....including a surf at LIGHTS !!! SSSHHHH !

Just taking the piss. I fully appreciate your desire to keep quiet spots quiet , but maybe you should count to ten and reread any posts you respond to before you start spitting venom.

I'm actually glad that Denmark has a local contingent keen to keep the coast under wraps.

Even legends like yourself that prefer to dominate summertime OB surf club lefts with Mike Neunuebel .

Geez Camel, I thought that the crew on Swellnet were a fair cross section including travelling surfers such as yourself.

Fading surfing lives...that's a bit harsh.

PS in the last 14 months I've spent -

- 5 months in Indo

- 2 months QLD/ NSW

-3 Months North West

- 2 more months NSW

- 3 times across the bottom of OZ

- various roadies through WA

- 2 quick bolts to Bali

- another few week spell in the North West

And I've just passed through Customs in Bali again a couple of hours ago.

How much travel is enough ?

.

You have a passport Blowin...?

hey blowin with all the travelling and constant posting on swellnet it makes me wonder how much time you do in the surf . why don't you just live somewhere with good waves ? and when you drive across the country along the bight come and surf with me sumtime !

Blowin Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 03:11 pm new

It's all surf travel Caml.

I thought our paths had crossed ( again ) in August when I was heading West. I was at Cactus and it was large but terrible. There was only one guy out Caves and a fella in the car park reckons he was your mate and it was probably you even though the guy was struggling and was a natural foot.

I love the waves in the bight but it's a bit cold for my sensitivities mate.
When I was there in August I had on literally every article of clothing I possessed at the same time. You ever worn two pairs of jeans at the same time ?

I wasn't sticking around when I knew that it was 26 degrees and pumping in the North West.

I just got out of the water at a crystal clear , piss warm session with only four out though.

I get bored in one spot . I'm good whilst there is waves but off seasons drive me nuts.

I actually tried to remove that info as I realised I might have came across as a bragging fuckwit.

I don't mind being a fuckwit , but not a wanker, so just pretend you didn't see it .

Nah, too easy.

Blowin Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 03:22 pm new

See what I mean ?

Braudulio gets it.

He doesn't mind being a fuckwit either.

Just jokes Braudulio, just because we disagree on one thing doesn't mean we can't get along.

Where do you reckon is a good place to live Caml ?

Somewhere warm but not stinking hot, not too cold. Good consistent surf with a variety of breaks. Good fishing. Uncrowded. In Australia .

I'll come surfing with you anytime Caml. As long as it's not massive. I'm not an amazing surfer, I'd be lucky to make a heat in a boardriders on my best day but I'll be on good waves like a rash.

wellymon Wednesday, 18 Mar 2015 at 03:30 pm new

Geez whats up with you two.....!

I've missed something here for sure, was it a debacle about Abbott in the political debacle, debacle...
Lucky I stay clear of the debacle, debacle political crap. All it does is make people debate, well put it in simple terms, IMO it is purely called arguing..! Thats why all those peanuts in the chamber love it.

Or who dropped in on who...? Somewhere along ya travels Blowin..

Hey Sheepio I do post offshore, not as regular and not as intoxicated;)
So its probably better for your eyes eh.

And then blowin moved to XYZ and it was juust right! You can rent out my garage as long as you don't make too much of a mess or use any of my boards.

I will tell you this story which happened to me not long ago in Perth.

I was in Perth for a week before going offshore with another bloke who I will call Ants (tough c**t, covered in tatts)

We both had to go down to do a quick job south about 3 hrs. Cut along story short, driving in the work van and picked up a hitch hiker who had this groovey funkie little bag around his neck...!

Ants was driving and turned around to the hitcher and asked what was in his bag, the hitcher bloke just said bluntly , "Mind your business"...!

I thought to myself, you don't really want to say that to Ants...?

Anyways half hour later Ants turned around and said "come on mate whats in your bag around ya neck mate"...?

Well same reply, but "Mind your own business mate"

Uuum I thought, here we go.

Well after about 15mins we pulled up on the side of the road and all got out to have a piss, Ants after his piss went up to the hitcher and ripped the bag off from around his neck and kicked him into the ditch, quickly jumping in the work van and both of us speeding off. with this bag and no hitcher....!

I thought to myself WTF just happened, we got to work alright in the end..... That was all cool.

Wow..... Nice guy........ :/

Don't meet them under a bridge! Take care the only bag these two may bring is a bodybag.

mothart Thursday, 19 Mar 2015 at 03:06 pm new

Thanks for your concern Morris, but maybe a body bag is what I need...

I can't surf, I work & I am losing my grip on my fading surfing life.

Or did you say bodyboard?.. Maybe that what I need.

Don't worry mothart, you are amongst fellow sufferers here, rehab for washed up ex-surfers. Relax, take a seat brother.

Thanks brad, it's always comforting to know others are suffering aswell.

Will you feel better if you die in a plane crash with a couple of Hundred people dying with you? Lol

mothart Thursday, 19 Mar 2015 at 08:31 pm new

That depends if they find the plane or not.
