Kudos to SA.
A decent release of updates.
Let's hope the trend continues.

Given 40% of new cases in Vic are recorded from RATs, and given NSW don’t count these positives, NEW CASES IN NSW TODAY would be approximately 81,000. How good’s letting it rip?
So Burleigh , your ,"Vaccination in Australia is voluntary, always has been." from.......???
I wonder when you say," Governments and media lie, and you’re the fool who laps up the fear.[/quote]".....how you reconcile " your ,"Vaccination in Australia is voluntary, always has been." from.......???
Remember when you first heard of the crew in China putting melamine in baby milk formulas and thought that’s some evil, evil shit? Willing to poison kids to sell more product.
The US is doing the same at the highest level of state. Pushing for kids to be vaccinated using fraudulent statistics. Evil, evil shit.

Did she really say that?
Ha ha! That is Golden (Girls).
.
Every country on earth at some stage will have to learn to live with Covid and will have to let it rip so to speak.
Now was a good time to let it happen because:
1. To keep Omicron out would have meant we went back into a very strict border control, situation and backed it up with lockdowns, but reality is most Australians are over that approach especially after being vaccinated, plus we were all promised once we were vaccinated things would change.
2. Australia had just reached a very high vaccination rates right across Australia.
3. Vaccine for most people is still effective as done fairly recently. (still effective against Delta the strain with most risk of death)
4. Booster program for most vulnerable already started.
5. Peak of Summer when people are outside and less likely to have flue etc that could complicate things.
6. People in Southern states have had the chance to get outside and boost their natural Vitamin D levels.
7. Delta was fairly under control.
8. It would have been close to impossible to keep Omicron out or under control, and we had reached a point where it was clear Omicron was much milder than Delta.
A bad time to let it rip would have been going into winter when peoples vaccine efficiency has dropped off and people are indoors and with lower vitamin D levels, especially if Delta cases had risen .
It's also looking more and more likely that if the pandemic ever ends it wont be through vaccination but through the virus morphing into a strain that is more contagious but far less deadly, that is Omicron that will most likely become something similar to the flue where we really do learn to live with it, which means at some point testing will only happen if get fairly sick and people will only stop working if they really are sick.
The problem currently is not so much the virus but the approach to the virus (Omicron), but im sure as time goes on we will change how we approach things.
Blowin now that's one of your most credible posts yet.......but you have to love SF's Vagina pounding post??
Vaccines are safe. Question answered, SF.
Question was why is Australia locked into mRNA ?
I dont think we are Astrazeneca was our first choice and still widely available, but as we all know Pfizer become popular due to issues with Astrazeneca.
Yes your right indo , but we don’t produce AZ anymore, if there are vaccines that don’t cause bloodclots or heart problems or other adverse reactions wouldn’t you be more interested in that type of vaccine ? Protein based vaccines have been around along time . https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-021-03025-0 Interesting that when this article was written Petrovsky had already had his vaccine approved in Iran.
Because they are safe.
Perhaps he was, though 2nd doses are reportedly more problematic, and it would be presumptuous to assume that the authorities would declassify him as vaccinated due to the technicality of the 1-2 week immunity period.
I'll have a go at that:
- Pfizer launched a more successful marketing blitz in Aus
- in particular they launched a fear campaign against AZ, the validity of which I doubt has come true
- Aus is more politically and commercially in bed with the US than the UK, and is increasingly so day by day
- Aus is largely blanket covered by US media, we really take no interest in UK media, and Pfizer has a very close symbiotic relationship with the US media
- etc
But adults and kids have died after Pfizer jabs , you call that safe ?
picture host
ouch indeed
that was awkward....
1 monthly boosters anyone? ...ya know... follow the science n stuff...
Agree, we may have finally found an exit ramp from the pandemic thanks to omicron (and possibly the South African mice where it may have evolved)
Omicrons mega transmissability and "safer" upper respiratory track focus may well mean a new world for us all:
- vaccines may well be much less relevant (than previously)
- lockdowns are now close to pointless
- masks, unless worn perfectly, of limited use as it is so airborne
- vaccine passports fade to irrelevance
- the endless debate can end
Might be a tough month of sickness and chaotic adjustments but omicron has potential to burn away the pandemic fuel (unexposed human hosts) with limited consequences for most and with it many recent unpleasant societal shifts before they became too entrenched due to the vast majority agreeing on their future irrelevance due not to debate or spin but rather overwhelming observed experience.
X fingers...
More adults and kids have died whilst being unvaxxed. The benefits outweigh the negatives. Statistically you are far safer after being vaxxed.
You are just asking dumb, leading questions…to further your bias.
And what exactly is my bias ? To use safer more effective vaccines? You are just plain weird.
@roadkill , I believe you like to invest and buy crypto and stocks you must have got in early on Pfizer to love them so much . Do you get a bonus for promoting them ?
exactly
australia actually just got really unlucky... opening up at the exact time as omicron hit...
if it wasn't for omicron, it would've been a relative walk in the park... it still is... crew are just wigging out for nothing on case numbers...
most of the sickness to these cases is so mild, it's now just a massive waste of expended energy and resources
coupla weeks, it'll hopefully be all over, like SA...
only problem is oz hasn't built much natural immunity with previous waves like SA would have, here's to hoping that doesn't come back to bite
Whatever, SF. Stick to your dumbfuckery, it just shows how stupid you really are.
The benefits of promoting tham and AZ…is that people get a far greater chance to survive covid. That’s bonus enough.
Sorry roadkill I understand you’re a bit sensitive.
Props to you for becoming so fixated on me in such a short space of time, Ben.
- Did my best to answer all your interrogative questions the other day.
- Not sure how I've contradicted myself; that's a pretty baseless jab, mate. Poor form.
- So I'm in an echo chamber because I back most of the Gov's covid policies & don't buy into conspiracy theories? Yet I'm supposedly the one overgeneralising things.. Benno, mate..
- discrediting their MOTIVES for good reason: [https://respectfulinsolence.com/2021/12/17/dr-robert-malone-goes-full-a…] [
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_American_Physicians_and_Su…] [https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/covid-vaccines-and-cardiac-effects-rea…] [- For what it's worth, that recent preprint on Myocarditis cost/benefit in young fellas looks interesting. If it's of a sufficient quality & gets subsequent momentum, I can imagine ATAGI recommending a different vaccine for the at-risk demographic (isn't Novavax the drummed up alternative?).
As for you though, dude - your comments about/towards me have come off as a bit too intense and as such, I'll be giving you a wide berth on here from now. Ciao.
Hmmm I feel AZ was dealt with a bit too harshly - seems to have done its job over in the UK, no?
Done its job? If I employed someone that didn’t work and needed constant days off (boosters) I would fire them.
Sorry, I'm an ardent follower of the English Premier League and see full stadiums in most matches. A few fixturing hiccups lately with players/coaches testing positive.
Do you not think the vaccines have done their jobs, which is to save lives? Even Trump seems to think they've prevented the deaths of millions (political play or not, he still admitted it, and it's true that for all his failures he's performance in this domain was retrospectively excellent)
Agreed. A few months ago I started wishing I got AZ instead of Pfizer (I'm mid-late 40s).
I think the triumph of Pfizer over AZ in Australia, given we were all systems go with AZ at the start and turning to Pfizer caused the delay in the vaccine rollout, will go down as an all-time MBA case study of effective use of and strategic alliance with the media in order to shift public and "expert" opinion and force the political "leaders" of a foreign country to buckle to that public pressure and ditch a competitor's product for one's own product.
It will be celebrated for decades to come as a triumph in American marketing and public relations in the face of stiff odds, competition and adversity, tilting the balance of a whole foreign nation to your product.
Yo, burleigh…see above. Lol
Apologies blowin it was Burleigh I was quoting .
AZ is probably the best vax. Seems to have a longer protection period than the alternatives.
Listen to you, all of you. Disagreeing about a vaccines efficiency. The same vaccine that you were promised it stops transmission which you guys never seem to talk about.
A vaccine for a disease so deadly you have to be tested to check you don’t just have a cold.
A vaccine governments had to basically force into peoples arms.
The only thing this vaccine is good for is lining pockets of a few unknown men here in Australia and around the world.
A had a virus this week, was it covid? Possibly. Did I freak out and line up for hours for a test? Fuck no
Felt like a bad hangover for 2 days and all it did was remind me why I no longer drink. My partner got more flu like symptoms for 2 days, my kids sneezed.
All unvaccinated, all back to normal after 2 days.
You peanuts need a reality check.
Ya too chickenshit to even try to answer a question, that is so far above your level….it’s fucking hilarious watching you avoiding it.
Roadkill says “ AZ is probably the best vax. Seems to have a longer protection period than the alternatives. “ and accuses others of being idiots and having NFI. https://www1.racgp.org.au/newsgp/clinical/clearer-picture-emerges-of-lo…
Lmao…this question, burleigh.
You skimmed over my virus I had this week Roadkill, don’t you want to know about how scary it was being unvaccinated?
Youre right, I can’t answer this question because after running it past my brother in law Dr who is at my home right now it is not as simple as that ( I’m not smart enough, and neither are you obviously)
Your question is loaded and incorrect.
Tell us about the cafe scenario again RK. Or do you wish that one disappeared?
67.4% of people in NSW fully vaccinated as of 2nd January.
Why don’t the experts ever announce this? Why do they only announce when the unvaccinated are the majority?
https://aci.health.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0006/698388/202201…
Your vaccine is working great. The majority on NSW hospitalisations are vaccinated.
So it’s confirmed. A real question asked and you have NFI. Lmao, ya Dofus.
Ps. I answered the cafe question.
A boomer using Lmao and Dofus in one sentence is a real insight to how lonely you must be.

Reports did however come in from Denmark before they flicked AZ that bloodclots were 1 in 40,000 and in other reports young women 1 in 25,000 . All the deaths in Australia were from AZ according to TGA and 8 of the 9 deaths were women. Pfizer definitely has some influence in the media and more money is spent on advertising than research. Pfizer’s sponsorship in the US is enormous as I’m sure you’re well aware .
Business deals. That’s all it is.
Some people have got VERY rich the last couple of years.

Surprise surprise, The self pro-claimed brains of the forum doesn’t read the articles he posts:
Children seem to be only mildly ill, for the most part, in New Jersey, said Dr Jennifer Owensby of the pediatric critical care division at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
"We are definitely seeing an increase in COVID-19 positive children, but they are not necessarily coming in with COVID-19 symptoms," Owensby said.
The kids are coming in for some other treatment, she said, and are testing positive when they are screened.
That same effect is driving up case counts in Washington, DC, said Dr Roberta DeBiasi, infectious diseases chief at Children's National Hospital.
Hello RK, Vic and Co.
You seem to be very quiet on this? Wonder why….
Interesting to compare the two articles https://www.smh.com.au/world/north-america/hospitalisations-of-kids-too…
Over 90% in nsw are fully vaxxed. (Eligible)
This is all you need to read to know the article is cooked:
The worrisome trend in children too young to be vaccinated underscores the need for older kids and adults to get their shots to help protect those around them, said Dr Rochelle Walensky,
The vaccine does not stop the spread.
