Hahaha. The Liberal voters/enablers in full effect:

"Yes when i was young and on the dole i always voted Labor cause i wanted as much free money as i could get and i knew they would give it to me and with the least hoops to jump as possible.

These days as a business owner things are different though...but hey still happy to take a free pointless handout if its offered up."

"You'd be mad not to."

"You, me and Rupert can enjoy our intellectual superiority without descending into the depths plumbed by those who stick their heads up their bums and then blame us for turning out the lights."

Grifters n leaners.

And eejits.

Australia! You're standing in it!

blowfly Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 08:36 am new

Classic stuff facto.........I can smell the stink of entitlement from here! Ask not what you can do for your country but what your country can do for you!

To quote an old song it has gone from
".......take what you need and leave the rest" to "....take what you can get and fuck the rest."

indo-dreaming Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 08:37 am new

"ID, remember your ignore button - no point engaging these morons in serious debate. You, me and Rupert can enjoy our intellectual superiority without descending into the depths plumbed by those who stick their heads up their bums and then blame us for turning out the lights."

Yeah just need to ignore him...

Wouldn't be too bad if he came in here and added to the discussion but, its just pure trolling, just trying to stir up shit with personal insults.

Super boring.

GuySmiley Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 08:47 am new

Privatise profits socialise losses.

blowfly Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 08:48 am new

"..........but hey still happy to take a free pointless handout if its offered up."

And you don't think that it is parasitical to take taxpayers money intended to help those in need? It's an attitude I find repugnant. What's your business name "Ace Lurk Enterprises"?

adam12 Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 09:33 am new

Blowfly quoting Virgil Caine shows what a classy guy you really are. Kudos.

factotum Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 11:15 am new

I'm getting a Don Angel vibe, BF (criminally underrated show BTW).

At least that would be sorta interesting.

Info's Dirty Dog Wash franchise!

Rather than just bog-standard 'grubby subbie'.

@ Blowfly

Only people that decide who is deserving on these types of payments are the departments that hand out the cash not you or anyone else, most people wont say no to free money and if little effort is involved will jump the odd hoops to get it.

Most people have the attitude i pay tax it's my right.

IMHO that ain't a bad thing it keeps these things in check, otherwise you socialist would be handing out money left right and centre.

zenagain Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 02:44 pm new

Lotta finger pointing here.

Who here knocked back the $750 or whatever the Oz government was handing out? Or better still, committed it to someone or something more needy?

blowfly Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 03:18 pm new

"...Only people that decide who is deserving on these types of payments are the departments that hand out the cash" No personal responsibility there then? You take what you are "entitled " to yeh? Regardless of need? Wife on the payroll? Tax agent who maximises every deduction because you're "entitled " to it?

"IMHO that ain't a bad thing it keeps these things in check, otherwise you socialist would be handing out money left right and centre."

As opposed to the massive middle class welfare dished out by the COALition via super concessions, tax cuts for the wealthy etc etc.......and how exactly does people taking money they don't need reduce " handing out money left right and centre." Love to hear that explained.

And zen I'm not getting into a pissing contest about who does what.......if you want to take advantage of the system OK but don't boast about it on social media eh? Oh shit that's right, you're not even in the country.

zenagain Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 03:54 pm new

No, i was called an idlot for pointing out you'd be mad for not taking money that you're lawfully entitled to rather than morally entitled to.

Regardless of me living in the country i think it's a bit rich to accuse someone of being a parasite when that person simply exercised their democratic right. Sure, bragging about it on social media might not be the coolest thing, but no laws were broken here.

indo-dreaming Friday, 24 Jul 2020 at 04:36 pm new

Need is super subjective, IMHO most people don't need what they receive as we all know we are living in the age of self entitlement quite simply you have two choices pass go and collect $200 like everyone else, or choose not too.

(May - June) 2020 Oz Visitor Stats
Each time Scomo bans Non Oz citizen travel...the more they keep arriving...
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-19/coronavirus-non-resident-travel-…
Numbers are staggering ...over 357,000 (Various) since March
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-07-08/coronavirus-queensland-internati…

May...Numbers seemed to bottom out but are now on the rise again.
Fed Govt are the weakest link with Borders by increasing overseas exposure.

China Freeze > Scomo's Chinese arrivals are up, yep up, by 92.5%

Banning o/s arrivals > 10 Hot Countries visitation up to 98% from May

Work >[visas] Up - Fam 22% / Skilled 33.9% / Temp 121% / Other 50% /Tour 50%

Increase in o/s Travellers to Oz ~ 11,700 in June (By State)
All Up - NT 332% / Qld 109% / WA 50% / ACT 42% / NSW 20% / Vic 7.5%.

Everything Scomo told you on TV was bullshit...He's flooding Oz with Corona.

Govt have doubled visitor numbers & doubled Cheap visas to take Aussie Jobz...
Govt lied & is putting Aussie Lives at risk...(Scomo's Polls Skyrocket)
That's [BLM] still running rampant all over Oz just last month! (Bloody Hypocrite!)

https://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/3401.0.55.004

NZ + o/s 'transit is exempt' from Oz travel restrictions for up to 72 hour visits.
https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/transiting-australia#toc-0

States recently overrode with stricter 24hr Transit limit > then Quarantine fees.

Victorian bans all o/s Air & Shipping but not o/s entry via interstate transit.
These secondary transits won't record on ABS stats. (They go undetected.)

Victoria waives the cost of all o/s non insured & non medicare travellers that are 'suspected' or 'show symptoms' or 'seeking medical advice' on Covid 19.
Vic covers their Quarantine, Health Debt, Ambos, Transfers, Hospital Costs.
https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/information-overseas-travellers-coronavirus…

This provides a triangle for o/s Covid Refugees to bypass all Tests & Quarantine.
Sure! Spreading Covid thru South East Oz as well if not already...(We won't know)
Once in Victoria are guaranteed all expenses paid #1 treatment / recovery plan.
One must consider that this flying under the radar VIP care is already the norm.

Maybe cancel the VIP Covid Party Invites before perving on Vic Hot Sex Hotel Vidz.

VIP coronavirus health + Accom is free under the guise of humanitarian grounds.
Unsure if Feds allocated Vic as Pacific Covid Recovery centre or if they accepted it!
Feds did likewise with Covid Ships in distress! (SAR / Law of the Sea)
Note: Feds muscled Melbourne Cruise Ports to Jet viral Passengers out to China
Feds rule bigger half of Vic Quarantine & need to man up for half of the blame.

Vic are also alone in freely vaccinating o/s [Visa] Kids to attract young o/s Families.
All other States refuse o/s vax until 6 months to attract cheap dodgy [visa] Labour.

Border security are inviting trouble by opening up Covid Reffo corridors.
Last time tbb checked the "international" car Licences were waived at borders.
2nd wave o/s arrivals are doubling but travellers info is fading...That's a worry!
Every Govt has different o/s transit policy & that's not good...It's pretty pissweak!
None believe the Vic Inquiry will expose & close such obvious loopholes.

views from the… Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 08:02 am new

That graph attached to above comment can be misleading if taken on its own.
Check this site for a few more details:
https://ourworldindata.org/causes-of-death

Ta Zen.

shoredump Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 09:02 am new

Thanks facto, my sentiments exactly.
Soft drink is the #1 scariest thing on this planet right now.

It’s more important to take that sugary drink out of your child’s hands, than it is to slap a mask on them. Personally I’d do both, but some people just don’t get it due to fixation anxiety

indo-dreaming Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 09:14 am new

While I totally agree with D-Rex that link Facto shared was actual quite good. (a rarity)

But views from the... makes a good point with his link. https://ourworldindata.org/causes-of-death#what-do-people-die-from

Why are deaths from cardiovascular disease and cancer not included? in that animated graph when they are generally leading causes of death?

Hard to know what to believe but diabetes comes in much lower on views graph, which makes more sense. (still obviously an issue)

shoredump Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 09:37 am new

If you think it’s your god given right to drink and smoke and eat like a pig, then clog up the icu beds, then your no better than a protestor in Americas south arguing about their right to go mask free.

blowfly Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 09:55 am new

"......then your no better than a protestor in Americas south arguing about their right to go mask free."

Except your bad habits only influence your own health. Going mask free, and encouraging others to do so potentially increases community transmission.

shoredump Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 10:11 am new

Agreed BB, I actually conceded that part initially, before editing it out. There is still an element that transmission occurs mostly, between those that aren’t choosing to be careful.

Could have solved the icu capacity issue by banning cigarettes and soft drink, instead of sporting events. Your bad habits do affect others. Now is not the time to clog up the icu beds by something easily avoidable

blowfly Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 10:21 am new

"Could have solved the icu capacity issue by banning cigarettes and soft drink"

Well maybe if they had done it thirty years ago.

shoredump Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 10:33 am new

Not true, ill health can be reversed

blowfly Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 10:49 am new

True, but not overnight. In the case of cigarette smoking it can take 15 years for the risk of heart attack to fall back to that of a non-smoker.

factotum Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 12:09 pm new

Interesting what people take out of graphs/stats etc.

Leaving aside what is/isn't presented and/or quantifiable, and how it's all arrived at anyway (the nuts n bolts), and taken at face value, what I found interesting was that in the short space of months, COVID has climbed to be the third highest killer in the world, and if you're a betting person (or not), will most likely be #1 this year.

One to ponder for all those that think this COVID thing isn't much of a thing at all?

indo-dreaming Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 01:10 pm new

OMG I'm agreeing 100% with Facto.

And also agreeing with Blowfly.

IMHO in regarding to smoking in the west we are 100% on the right track, i believe take up rates are way down and it just has a real negative stigma attached to it, even in the last 20 years i'ts seems to have gone from kinda cool to uncool.

Bad eating habits foods high in fats and sugar we have an issue with, but i dont think things like soft drink should be banned i mean who doesn't like the odd can of coke?...and i dont think i could drink spirits straight when i do have the odd glass or five.(very rare these days)

It's like most things its about moderation and balance. (but some things like smoking are not even good in moderation)

GuySmiley Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 01:12 pm new

OMG I'm agreeing 100% with Indo right up to that last sentence which is straight out of the food and beverages lobbyist handbook.

indo-dreaming Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 01:09 pm new

Sorry i edited it a little.

Good to see we can all agree on something though.

GuySmiley Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 01:19 pm new

News from the grapevine is that schools on Phillip Island, Gippsland, the west coast and some country towns are being inundated with enrolment requests from Melbourne based families with holiday houses on the coast or in the country. Schools are resisting these requests atm but should covid continue its going to be interesting at the end of the year.

I fought the law and the........check ya mail self-righteous one.

Spuddups Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 05:43 pm new

I’m a moderate smoker. I have one cigarette or cigar a year. I’m a pack-a-decade man. I haven’t noticed any adverse affects yet. I tried to give up last decade but fell off the wagon and had two in one year. Pretty excessive really.

Rabbits68 Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 05:52 pm new

Bizarre stuff WOTL. Serial fruit loop....

Vic Local Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 06:02 pm new

Fucking Sovereign Citizen muppets saying "I don't consent" like that means something.
These utter fuckwits think they are so special they have the right to put other people in danger. We have speed limits and gun laws for nutters like this.
A long night in the slammer is what these idiots need, because you know she's going to show up again at some other supermarket or hardware shop tomorrow. I'm sure the coppers could slap on a few more chargers to help her with her attitude.
No Consent, just fuck off.

zenagain Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 06:30 pm new

You know Vic, I 100% totally agree with you.

I almost never condone violence but these two nutbags need a swift backhander. FFS, entitled wannabe curbside lawyers.

I don't know about anyone else but those vids boil my blood. And who are the first people they call when they want to apply the law?

indo-dreaming Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 06:37 pm new

She even made the news, complete nut case, sadly though there is many like her around.

shoredump Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 06:38 pm new

Agree facto, those people that think covid isn’t a thing, are nutbags.

Lucky there’s not many of them, unlike the masses who truely believe their sugar and salt isn’t shaving years off their lives, and clogging up the icu beds.
Those nutters are absolutely everywhere

GuySmiley Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 07:15 pm new

Apparently Bunnings Karen was quickly arrested outside the store but was released after she presented evidence of a medical condition exempting her from wearing one. I wasn’t aware being a selfish fuckwit was a medical condition.

zenagain Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 07:19 pm new

So she could have made it clear to the Bunnings staff from the beginning instead of being antagonistic and basically going out of her way to ruin the day of someone just trying to do their job.

These are trying times for everyone and what the world doesn't need right now is another selfish arsehole.

zenagain Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 07:30 pm new

Saw this a couple of years ago. I can't believe how cool this cop remains throughout it.

Sorry, but it's hard to feel sorry for this little space-kitten.

Westofthelake Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 08:18 pm new

Geez Zen talk about fast talkin girly-like 'free-inhabitant' muppet right there.

Apologies in advance, but I've got to raise you one.

Hows the Three Hail Mary's....you couldn't make this up.

mikehunt207 Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 09:54 pm new

Being total selfish fuckwits is one thing but worst bit is they staged the whole thing to post on social media too, typical millennial arseholes, cant even rebel without the need for someone to comment on how great they are, Ita Buttrose wasnt far off the mark.

zenagain Sunday, 26 Jul 2020 at 10:54 pm new

I'd give you a like Mike, but I don't want you to feel validated by your wholly excellent post,

They weren’t millennials? They where a pair of entitled 30 somethings.
I gotta a couple young guys working on my site and they’re absolute guns. I watched a 16 year old lad help barrow 28 cubes of mud on Friday and left smiling, Ita Buttrose can eat a bag of dicks the entitled cunt. No need to punch down gents there’s useless cunts across all ages.
