My theory is when any narrative is pushed too hard, even if true or, partially so, it creates a push back.
Media has become too activist on a number of topics and by excluding any rational discussion of countering views or complexities that make issues not so black and white this magnifies resistance and pushback.
They think they are heroically acting as the key to countering misinformation and saving the world on whatever issue is in play but are actually fertilising resistance and scepticism.

My understanding is the protestors congregated on the shrine or remembrance and police then tried to rid them when they didnt move on they were hit with tear gas and rubber bullets.
