Cheers SR , what a great channel .
Too easy @supa.
I reckon this Rogue.tv have cracked the code of big wave surfing being brought to an audience.
There's really no need for a contest. Everyones a winner already. So they can ditch the whole contest infrastructure that's so cumbersome to live streaming.
Just a couple of boat cameras, a drone, one on the cliff and a truck. Whammo! Done.
Just cameras and some guys in a commentary booth back on Oahu.
Watch this space i reckon. Could be some pretty sick stuff coming up.
Anyway, off to work. Love the Hawaiian time difference.
Have a good day mate.
It was good to watch, but Lordy, that's an expensive biz model.
Three talking heads, three camera angles (that I could count, there may have been more), producer, tech lead, and who-knows-how-many-other paid workers, all operating on call, and the max concurrent viewers I saw was 2.5K.
Also, I saw it for free. Where's the money coming from?
Not bad, at least they're embracing the fact that watching surfing is a slow mellow undertaking with only brief moments of excitement.
Contrived energy like the Wosl is always going to grate.
Good sized beachies with the riders straightlining it on large boards.
Very relatable.
Pumping surf in comp at Hossegor .
Salt and Air studios are at it again.
Get onboard. The best live big wave action to date in my opinion. High quality with commentary.
Nazare Live right now.
Cheers SR, I happened to click a random spot 2:34:52 to see a dislocated shoulder put back in haha!

re Susan O'Neill, Susie O'Neill seems the swimmer is also the bodysurfer @Sprout:
"The Women’s Open was won by double Olympic gold medalist Susie O’Neill who showed she has lost none of her form in the water. She edged out defending Champion Lyla Crouch with IBSA winner Ally Zillman taking out third."

Qld tbb's salute the crew...nice alt promo basesix
We bodybasherz fly under the radar...that's our job distraction.
the commentary was cool, humble gratitude, thanking locals, expressing the joy of not putting something between yourself and the wave. And a coming together of a community. Not everyone's cup of tea, but there were passionate people enjoying what bodybashing is.. cheers @Sprout for putting the link in the wsl comments.. cheers @truebluebasher for posting the highlights.
^ oldy but a goody @TBB.. good sunday vibes to you, sir.

Krui Pro Day 1 LIVE
Still the best named thraed on Swillnit, spout. Thanks for sharing.
I skimmed through a bit of that, for the clean condition part of the day at least, and the surfing I saw was very low standard for the most part.
Some nice waves though.
Blackers, I'll never forgive stu for it, but forever respect the cheeky bastard lol.
Not wrong LD, such great waves, such bad surfing.

Astounding, hey? Testament to one talented word-dude (for lack of a more wordsmithily-chosen term) and possibly his best spontaneous work; not too much, just the right funny, not pushing too hard - could there BE a better messing with those letter combos to better effect..?
Just tuning in now.
They appear to be shoulder hopping every wave this heat?
All the bazzas going unridden.
What the rest of the day been like?
Forget his name, and which heat, but apparently he's the son of the Kandui resort owner, kid can wrangle a tube, great arm drag speed control, think he made 4 in the heat. All the Snapper kids seem pretty well versed too.

Dylan? Raised in the Ments he’d be a tube riding demon you’d expect
I watched about 4 heats of the women.
Kya Heuer got a couple of barrels.
I saw a couple of nice turns too but it was generally very painful to see so many perfect barrels with no one making an attempt to ride them.
Just watched it back, sick barrel, full cinematic panning drone shot too. Why are the CT camera angles so shit, weird.
*Especially when the Olympics coverage angles were so good. I guess they didn't cut to Bonsoy brew breaks, or ads for the Olympics as set waves approached. Jokes aside, if the CT camera operators and/or producers are surfers, I'd be very surprised.
Often hard to tell from the land camera angle when a set is coming at nias. It's been a good watch though
Elliot P-R on an absolute tear. Not really barrelling today, so he's laying into huge turns.
So what's happened with these big QS events in both Krui and Nias? Hardly any name competitors have bothered to enter at all. You do well in these two events and you're on the Changas next year. There's nothing rated this high in Australia. So what's happened with all the normal top ranked QS guys. Last year had all of the usual crew and this year hardly any. Is that a complete anti vote to the WSL system? Someone ranked hardly anywhere previously is going to win this event this year

I don't know for sure but it might have something to do with a tight fit between the QS and CS schedules.
There were three days between the Newcastle waiting period ending and Krui beginning, and four days between Nias ending and Ballito beginning.
If that is the reason then it counts out all the CS surfers.
