He said he would do it in exchange for NATO membership.

NATO has declared Ukraine will join the alliance but has not issued a formal invitation or set a timeline.
Here is a guy who grew up in Russia, has done his conscription time but now lives in the USA.
He is anti POOtin but gives accurate reports from his research about the conflict.
His family is still in Russia and have disowned him.Probably because they believe the Kremlin's propaganda OR they feel they have to say that to try and avoid repercussions from the regime.

If what he is saying is true regarding the missiles, why haven't Ukrainian media released footage of the strike area and the lack of damage? Or have they?

Thermobaric weapons have been around for a long time in lots of sizes, Kremlin claims of having an unstoppable delivery system can be disputed.
Not so long ago the Ruskis tried to launch their U beaut latest mega missile, it blew up in the silo and destroyed everything for an acre around it.It wasn't armed but it was just the fuel explosion that burnt everything up.
They are not highly competent at doing things, their war tactics are still Stalins "throw mega amounts of troops into battle and try to out number and over run the opposition"...Their plan of 3 days to take Kiev and another 7 to take the rest of Ukraine...IE a ten day SillyMoronsOperation, has only stretched to 1010 days for about 8% of Ukraine(excluding Crimea).
