Loved it. Frustrating listening to the kidnap story. Big beard doesn’t mean big balls. Good ending. Amazing landscapes throughout.
ps. Except corporate towers. Irony is that’s where it stemmed from. Lucky dude all round.

Wow, so maybe the coup was real?

When the news re: Prigozhin broke this morning, first thoughts were false flag. But apparently they've found all of the bodies, and so I suspect they'll soon provide more evidence to confirm he was on board.

I've been following Velina since you linked, and her analyses have been really insightful. But maybe she got this one wrong?

Either way, huge news.

etarip Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 07:16 am new

One of the takes I think has some basis is that the ‘coup’ was a petition to Putin - not intended to depose him, but to highlight dissatisfaction with Gerasimov and Shoigu.

https://warontherocks.com/2023/07/prigozhin-as-petitioner-making-sense-…

Still a challenge to Putin that couldn’t go unanswered.

Surovikin, progozhin’s closest ally in the RU military, has been under house arrest since the coup / mutiny / demonstration / ‘thing’ and was formally fired this week.

Who knows…. Intrigue upon intrigue

thermalben Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 07:21 am new

Hmm, may be premature re: identification of Prigozhin.

Jelly Flater Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 07:38 am new

Being on the passenger list and actually being on the plane are two very different things ;)

Either way, interesting stuff.

stunet Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 07:40 am new

Safe to say it'll never be confirmed one way or another.

Prigozhin will always be out there, living it up with Elvis.

Jelly Flater Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 07:50 am new

Uh huh huh …

Talking with a mate whose resume includes quite a bit of time as an Intel analyst - reckons court intrigue is a central feature of serious Russia thinking, and that there’s almost an entire discipline of ‘Kremlinologists’ in the enormous US system.

Wagner and Utkin ‘disappearing’ would be quite convenient for everyone…

Jelly Flater Thursday, 24 Aug 2023 at 08:24 am new

…and his other plane landed safely ;)
- did prigozhin board the connecting flight back to Africa ?

…a concert with elvis to lift the moral of ppl in Niger maybe ;)

Intrigue indeed.

Thanks for posting that.
Find this stuff very interesting as so many similarities between people that have had NDE's. Kind of similar to stories of people who do high doses DMT, all have similar experiences and talk about a feeling of oneness and love and how it feels more real than real life.
Personally have never experienced either, but maybe this life isn't the main event??
Or maybe it's just nothing like before you were born, either way enjoy the ride as Bill Hicks said.

A follow up on those vids of Japan's lost generation, the youth giving up, the men giving up on work or dating; here is the current situation for young Chinese graduates:

It must be similar to the situation graduates faced here in the 1990s, only enormously larger as of the number of people involved. I can reflect that at best you go back and study more and emerge more skilled, or work through it despite it feeling like a lost decade, before career things might take off. It's good when they do.

In that case I’d prefer to be snaked out in the surf!
My brother killed a brown last summer by hitting it with his car as it stood up in the middle of the road waiting to bite his approaching car.

My Canadian born wife is petrified of snakes, but felt comfortable dealing with the baby brown snakes (dugites) that we found all through the yard and house in Perth one spring.
She didn’t realise that they’re born fully fueled up with venom from birth. Once informed she lost a bit of that bravado!

Mainly red-bellied black snakes now we’re back on the east coast. Which are pretty mellow. Was clearing some scrub at my parents place a few weeks back, looked over and saw my kelpie in a face-off with a big fat one. Everyone went their own way in the end…

Snake season now.

Good story. My thoughts shifted when I realised it wasn't so much a magic keycard, just a credit card with no upper limit - whatever he transferred would ultimately be debited from his account.

Hell of a predicament. What would you do at that age with seemingly endless money on tap?

Honestly i dont think i would have done what he did.

Id have been to scared to go on a spending spree thinking id have to pay it back and thinking id go to jail for much longer than a year.

If i had kept getting money out, I think i would have just kept it as cash hidden thinking at least if i get caught i can pay it back.

Even then as nice as it would be it would be stressful, even if you had gotten away with it, it would forever fuck with your head, for instance, every time someone knocks on the door your heart would drop, is that the cops.
