Yeah possibly @TS. Been no sign of any aircraft lately though and we're out of most flightpaths down here. And it was felt over an area of about 100kms...all on the coastal fringe, same kinda experience from all reports, a large thunder like boom but like i said, it felt more like a shock impact against the house, as if a tree had fallen on it or something.
Couldn't rule that out sonic boom theory out though, except sceptical about it due to zero aircraft activity around here lately...apart from the odd cessna!

Yeah wow. So, wouldn't be far fetched to imagine it's Chinese military exercises to the south of here. Exactly the same kind of bang.
Geeez they've got some powerful toys if that's the case. Gotta wonder what the fuck that does to all the creatures living in the ocean off here. Insert next mass whale stranding. Might keep the pointers away for a week or two at least.

Fucking military aircraft way offshore are total pricks (RAAF) . I've had the bastards fly so low over boats you can see the farkers helmets. If there's a group of you, they'll line you all up and strafe you for mock target practice. I've heard a couple of sonic booms out there and how they didn't shatter the windows I'll never know. Certainly puts the wind up ya.
By the time you stick the middle finger up, which at that altitude they would clearly see, the pricks are halfway to Townsville.
Utter bastards.

southernraw Sunday, 16 Mar 2025 at 09:37 pm new

Cheers for the headsup on the sonic chronic TS! I'll sleep a little better and won't be checking for reds under the bed, for tonight at least! haha.
Bloody hell what pricks! Probably do the same if i was a wanker in a high powered machine i guess. Hope ya well mate!!

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Teach Pokémon to understand
The power that's inside

(Pokémon
Gotta catch 'em all) It's you and me
I know it's my destiny (Pokémon)
Oh, you're my best friend
In a world we must defend (Pokémon
Gotta catch 'em all) A heart so true
Our courage will pull us through
You teach me and I'll teach you (Ooh, ooh)
Pokémon! (Gotta catch 'em all)
Gotta catch 'em all
Yeah

Every challenge along the way
With courage, I will face
I will battle every day
To claim my rightful place
Come with me, the time is right
There's no better team
Arm in arm, we'll win the fight
It's always been our dream

Hey Toobie and Southern..... i was stayin in a trailer in the desert next to Area 51 8 years ago. I was by myself. I was there cuz Area 51 is supposed to be a hotspot for back engineering the recovered (crashed) UFOs. Anyways, without retelling that story, i was almost knocked outta bed by a low flying, sonic boom creatin military plane on some kinda test run. Given the area... when it first happened, i thought it was the Aliens, come to get me. I started throwin on clothes, sure that it would be very cold wherever they were gonna take me, lol. Saw all kindsa weird flyin objects in the sky that night, tho.

Late this arvo I got out my car at IGA, heard a rustle, looked down and a brown about 700 long slithered off into the garden from next to my foot.

Not dissimilar to the 356 Porsche!!

Also Mercedes have released the new CLA series which will be available in all electric. They claim a range of 750km which should make it attractive to the hard to convert mob. They apparently feature a two speed rear “transmission” for improved efficiency. And it will probably go like a rocket. I haven’t seen any road tests yet, i think its due to arrive here later this year.

Cheers AW,

Moving on to finance news, it appears the limits to that grand experiment known as monetary bukkake, have been reached:

There is the tantalising prospect of bond vigilantes appearing! Someone holding government spending to account! Actual price discovery! And then I woke up.

Not drowning, waving.

basesix Thursday, 22 May 2025 at 09:43 pm new

hey, @Hiccups, love your work, I kinda missed the david bridie genius. bands like not drowning, waving, my friend the chocolate cake, have a nice day.. I dunno.. bands that the home-schooled type people liked (i.e. the intimidating intelligencia - I was more a kid that thought I was cool cos I thought the Smiths/Doors/Zeppelin revival was 'gay' and birdmen and rifles were cool.. very one dimensional in my neck of the woods).

Doubt @southern would be given stick @burls.. if he's been mildly loose, it was for a reason that he expressed and shared.
