A bloke I ran into last week is a full on freedumb fuckwit, after forty years of living in a beachside trust home on welfare he can no longer afford his slab and bag of weed every week let alone a new play station and is fucken angry as hell at the guvamint.
WTF is going on in here? Tucker Carlson, David Icke, constant shit-posting. You dullards need to take a long hard look at yourselves. Away from the internet would be best methinks.
Well said, I agree completely with it all, and I too will not be getting boostered, I'm am out of the vaxx club, do not see any point to it for the same reasons you stated, and I'm meeting alot of people who going the same way, I'm even giving up customers that require you to be ,up to date, with your covid vaxx,
Wow and they wonder why some of us don't trust them, now more than ever they need to front another enquiry for longer and be made , forced to answer what question , public representatives ask of them, aren't they there to serve the people
I think most people are going to be Anti Boosters at some stage as just not doing something now makes you " Anti"
It's just at what boost do they say okay do i really need or want the 3rd shot, 4th shot, 5th shot, 6th shot etc
I havent had a booster yet really not keen on doing so, but ill keep pumping them into me as long as i need them to get into Indo, and well it's sad that that may become the case.

A few hundered = a millions of peoples are here, so peace, everybawdy happy peoples…and no ones has covid.
BD, admitted to watching this for 4 hours and couldn't take his eyes off the screen. Was riveting stuff.
@blowin
You do know that the corona virus and the influenza virus are two different things right? (Stupid question really. It seems not.)
what you think doesn't have much relevance to reality does it sunshine. Anyway wonder what you'll be doing when this 'hypochondriac boomer' sails tripled vaxxed and boosted through customs on my way to spot X for my next long overdue surf trip.
this is what I'll be doing: thinking see ya suckers
one more thing blowin - clearly you see no reason why you should be concerned about society generally (ie including older and immunogigally compromised people) it's a fact that one day you'll be older and Covid will still be with us. maybe that hadn't struck you yet.
I got bored after 30 seconds
Idiots in Canberra have trashed the camping ground they’re in. It’s part of the Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) where they hold big events. There’s photos of signs with ‘Nuremberg 2.0’ on them. That’s pretty fucking grim.
A result of the damage they’ve done is that the Lifeline bookfair, a key fundraising event for an important charity, has been canceled.
Don’t believe the hype about tens of thousands of people in Canberra backed up by videos of massive convoys. They’ve been creating traffic jams then filming the ordinary people who just want to go to Bunnings or the supermarket and claiming that they’re part of the movement. They just want a sausage sandwich FFS.
The protestors are infiltrated by A-grade fuckwits. Cops have asked them to move on by tmrw.
Interesting study , might encourage some to do a bit more exercise too . https://neurosciencenews.com/exercise-vaccine-immune-20059/
really etarip?
I don't dispute most of your post, but what's with this...

there's clearly tens of thousands of people, if not yesterday, today
I honestly don't get the outright desperation to deny reality, and desperation is all that it is... coming from many levels and angles...
sure dismiss their concerns, write them off if you must... but this warping of reality for political gain has got to stop
it just feeds the beast
There’s a clown ready to cruel any occasion.
Shame to have such a worthwhile message disrupted by these strange folk.
David Icke was a pisstake by udo. Made me laugh.
I was in Canberra for most of this week and here this weekend. Know a fair few people here so been talking with them too (went to uni here and have worked on and off in Canberra for 25 years). I’m currently about 5km from EPIC and less than 500m from Northbourne Ave. There’s a decent crowd but it’s definitely not any bigger than half the size of Summernats - which is a decent basis of comparison. Certainly some normal looking folk floating around but interspersed with absolute flogs. The traffic jam tactic is reasonably well known. Is every car you see in the videos tooting their horn, waving flags and holding signs? Here’s a tip; the ones that aren’t are just people going about their business.
The local shops to EPIC, a suburb called Watson, has had a group of flogs abusing regular folk doing their shopping for wearing masks. Which seems a little at odds with the right to individual freedom doesn’t it?
I’m not philosophically inclined to support vaccine mandates. I’ve got no beef with democratic, peaceful protest. I’m just telling you what I’ve seen and what a bunch of people I know have seen and experienced.
The force is strong with the jab junkies here today.
Go get your booster boys, gives us something to laugh at.
You an anti-masker too burlz?
NEVER worn one. Got an exemption very early on before the government crackdown on everything

Good for you! How good’s that totalitarian state!?!
fair enough
but none of that negates the fact there's clearly tens of thousands of people

Boosters every six months not a viable strategy, says Doherty chief
Tom Burton
Tom BurtonGovernment editor
Feb 7, 2022 – 5.00am
Administering repeated mRNA vaccines is not a viable strategy, and there is a strong need to develop broad-based vaccines and therapeutics to protect against future variants, says the head of the Doherty Institute.
With many more medical tools available to prevent severe disease, Professor Sharon Lewin predicted that Australia would begin to move away from “blunt” population controls to a testing and isolation approach that focused on reducing disease risk, rather than infection control, similar to the Danish response. Denmark has just lifted all restrictions, including wearing masks, despite there still being a high number of omicron cases. It has taken a similar highly technical approach to the pandemic to Australia and has vaccine levels similar to or better than the most populous Australian states.
But while Professor Lewin was optimistic about the course of the pandemic, she said it was important to have a “scenario plan” for future more virulent variants. This would avoid the problems thrown up by the contagious omicron variant, which had been unanticipated by governments and scientists around the world.
Professor Lewin is an infectious disease expert and her Melbourne University Doherty Institute has led a consortium of academic modellers and epidemiologists that informed Australia’s initial response to the Wuhan variant and the reopening plan after the delta variant wave last year. Controlling disease rather than infection
She predicted there would be a switch to a clinical definition for COVID-19 sickness.
“That would mean a much simpler messaging to the public to stay at home if sick,” she said.
Under this scenario, the testing and reporting of cases would evolve to only be necessary for people entering hospitals – similar to what happens with flu – with isolation focused on vulnerable groups.
“I’m not saying that that’s going to come in now, but that could be a future scenario if you are not worried about disease (severity),” she said.
“That’s really what is sitting behind the Danish changes in their restrictions in that they’re not worrying about infection, and they’re just worrying about disease.” New medical tools give more options
Professor Lewin said the pandemic was not over, but she was optimistic because Australia had “many more levers” to pull than in the first phase of the pandemic, and was now moving to where measures would be based on the characteristics of the variant it was facing.
“We’ve got a lot more tools available. How we use vaccines and boosters, and variant specific vaccines and new technologies, how we use testing, how we use antivirals, they will all be different, based on the variant we are facing,” she said.
“I think the overall strategy is all headed towards reducing disease, deaths and hospitalisation, special measures to protect the vulnerable and less blunt population-based blanket rules, which is what we were doing before we had these other tools.
“The stringency of isolation and quarantine will depend on the features of the virus.
“I think a lot of the public were very confused about the shift in strategy, even in opening up plans, when it went from delta to omicron. “Those policies are all related to the features of the virus. So if we had a virus that was much more pathogenic, we would ramp up the stringency again for isolation and quarantine because you’ve got a lot to lose if someone catches it. That’s the uncertainty in the future.”
Change in vaccine strategy
Professor Lewin said “chasing variants and boosting people every six months is not a viable strategy for the world”.
“We won’t be able to manufacture that amount, and you’ll never be able to keep up with the variance.
“An omicron variant vaccine may not be better than a Wuhan vaccine, even against omicron.
“A much better way would be to have what’s called a pan-sarbecoviruses. “These are vaccines that can protect against most corona variants, rather than specific strains. That would be a far more sustainable strategy than repeated mRNA vaccines.
“We just don’t know enough about how durable the immunities are. You may get better durable immunity with mixing vaccines.”
I think we need to be realistic that COVID is not over and that there will be more unexpected challenges.
— Sharon Lewin, head of the Doherty Institute
But a recurrent mRNA vaccine every six months was not a viable future strategy, she said, adding that there was advanced work on a pan-coronavirus vaccine and antibodies that are ready now.
“This is not wishful thinking. People are publishing capabilities to do this now. So, we might see them in clinical trials even as early as this year. So, this is not something that there is hope or wish for the future.”
Professor Lewin said that while she was optimistic about the course of the pandemic, it was important “to plan for the worst”. “I think we need to be realistic that COVID is not over and that there will be more unexpected challenges,” she said.
“The worst would be a new variant that causes much more severe disease. It’s possible, I’m not saying it’s likely, but it’s possible.
“We’ve got to do a lot more scenario planning around potential new variants and start to think about what would be the triggers to activate more extreme measures... I think that is all quite unlikely, but it’s all possible.”
Professor Lewin said that while it appeared the number of cases had peaked for the current omicron wave, she was uncertain about the short-term epidemiology, noting there was a second subvariant called BA.2.Stopping the virus from evolving
While she expected the focus to remain on limiting disease severity, infection control was still important to limit the evolution of the virus.
She noted there were emerging nasal-based vaccines that gave better mucosal immunity.
The mucosa line the airways and, rather than attack the virus once its enters the body, nasal vaccines stop the virus from entering the body.
Danes at Copenhagen’s central station enjoy their first maskless and restriction-free day.
Europe heads for COVID-19 ‘ceasefire’
“Although we are largely focused on its public health level in reducing disease, reducing infection has still some benefits, though that’s much tougher thing to do.
“It does have an important role because it will stop evolution of the virus.
“Even if the virus doesn’t make you sick, it will cause other infections. So with omicron it allows the virus to evolve.
“So a long-term strategy to get on top of this issue of blocking infection will be important.” https://www.afr.com/policy/health-and-education/boosters-every-six-mont….
maybe a few thousand... maybe definitely...

I gotta say, having these other events within the vicinity is just dumb and shows the cluelessness of our leaders is up there with trudeau...
seriously who didn't have the forsight to reschedule a superheros kids vaccination day at AIS?
it's like a red flag to a bull...
I hope nothing happens, but geez, ya gotta wonder...about a lot...
pretty sure if there was a captain cook appreciation society meet at the memorial at the same time as blm rallies, common sense would have prevailed...
absolutely clueless
Having these other events in the vicinity?
What? Like, the pre-planned events? The farmers market?
That would be an authoritarian government that imposed decisions to cancel community events…?
LOL, of course burlsack has an exemption from wearing a mask.
A supposedly living, breathing image of perfect health....can't wear a mask and had to go to the docs to get one.
I would bet a large sum of money that if we were around at the time of seat belt laws coming into play, Burleigh would be one of the flogs arguing against wearing them.
Old mate can sling a few verses.
There’s a fair amount of footage of protests in Canberra if you can be bothered with the ads . https://www.9news.com.au/national/protesters-convoy-canberra-anti-vacci…
no, that would be a wise established ruling class, that is well aware of their surroundings and constituents
the fact it is in canberra, public service mecca, and a city miles from anywhere, where anyone with half a clue has seen the build up over the last few days, just confirms my point
absolutely clueless
Yes mate. Horses for courses but i'll happily explain why.
The guy filming it (a former lawyer) walked around with a camera, everybody that he talked to came up and thanked him for what he was doing and many said it was one of the best things they've ever been involved in.
He stopped and talked to a fella from Slovakia, who said he'd left Slovakia 25 years ago after communism ended there, hoping for a better life, but now, he said, the current Canadian regime feels like he's back there again.
He talked to a Romanian truck driver who had similar sentiments, a guy who just wanted the mandates to be lifted so his son, who's unvaccinated could have some joy back in his eyes again.
He talked to a nurse who had lost her job because of the mandates, who had tears in her eyes as she expressed it as being one of the greatest things she's been a part of "It feels like a long lost family, after 2 long years of being separated from everybody"
I saw a group of 20 something year old males, with shovels in hand, shovelling snow off the footpath so people could safely navigate the city streets.
I saw a woman who stopped briefly to be interviewed, carrying a cup of coffee and a donut, that she'd bought for a homeless guy up the street.
Every single person that came up to him was from a different walk of life. There was the odd red neck. Most were well educated, and most spoke quietly, calmly, with reason and with conviction.
It would serve you well to take the time to watch more than 30 seconds before forming an opinion on it. If you can sit through the 6oclock news for 30minutes (fuck knows how any sane human could) then you owe it to the people you're judging to at least try to listen and learn.
Nice sob story.
Geez, just a couple of people.
Ahhh the irony of using 'the mental health expo being cancelled' while the lockdowns and mandates have probably caused more mental health issues in 2 years than 20 years. Nice one ABC.
Hah fuck you’re a tool.
I got an exemption because I didn’t want to wear a mask and didn’t know where this shit was heading.
Turns out I’ve never had to show it anyway.
Bit rich you commenting on my health, as you also seem like a healthy human, except you’re first in line for covid and flu shots. Says a lot about you actually.
Did you also walk your kids around on a leash?
And no, seatbelts make sense, unlike the jab which is like putting sticky tape over your seatbelt (immune system)
How is that a sob story Roadkill? Would you like to explain your comments?
It's hard not to feel sorry for you Roadkill.
So you’re saying that the ACT government should cancel a scheduled voluntary vaccination event, in case ‘anti-mandate’ (that’s being kind) protesters decided that they wanted to disrupt it?
What kind of policy precedent would that set? Letting one group interfere with the free choice of another?
I don’t think anyone is too concerned about the protests tbh. It’s a bit of a shitshow, but not much more than a minor nuisance from what I can see.
Roadkill had a big morning surfing kiddies corner at Burleigh. Was that you out there wearing the mask?
I've noticed a dangerous precedent being set by commenters on here about protesters and the way they are being categorized and stigmatised as 'less than' and 'others'. Sub humans even for taking part in protests for things they believe in to be just and right.
I'd be very careful with that.
By setting a precedent of condemnation, where does that leave you if something that you feel is truly awful and unjust affects your life?
How could you ever protest against....anything now that you've discredited it in such vitriolic language.
When the shoes on the other foot, how would you feel? If this last 2 years has shown anything it's that anything is possible. It might just be you that is the outcast of society before you know it, and then how are you going to stand up for your rights and your freedom??
hahaha
All the while turning a blind eye to the language and anger used against those that don’t agree with anti Vaxers.
Such a blind hypocrite, BD.
