When my wife first came over from an unnamed Asian country ,you have to use your imagination there.

We moved from Snapper to Kingscliff to the York peninsula to Port Lincoln to Ballina to Lennox to Maroochydore to Warnambool to snapper and to Tassy every 6 months when the leases finished, so I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on much, living in a tourist city at the moment.

Thats actually pretty cool.

So which location did you like the best for surfing and other.?

Please give us a short thought on each location lived.

@ Indo dreaming
Yeah it was pretty cool
Probably why my ex got her own place in Brisbane though lol
The best location for surfing and the other? Definitely the unnamed SE Asian country, for surfing and the other,
Reefs , river mouths, beaches , and no surfers 95 percent of the time
Snapper- Greenmount crowded , but always the chancy to get world class waves
Kingscliff can get good, less crowded, different options.
Yoke peninsula some great reef breaks , can get crowded but also uncrowded, different options, picks up swell
Port Lincoln not that many options, but consistent reefs
uncrowded , can make drive to west Eyre Penisula
Ballina / Lennox , consistent, different options, world class waves, drive to Byron etc , probably getting crowded now ,
Maroochydore, good beach breaks, different wind and swell options, Alex ,Pt Cartwright, drive to Noosa, not that consistent, but ok
Warrnambool, didn’t really get it that good, didn’t really know where to go , didn’t get Portland , bit cold and big
Tassy definitely gets uncrowded quality , in the right conditions, and take a drive, bit cold but scenic places.
Probably the best places for surfing
Tasty for less crowds
Ballina for consistent quality waves

Thanks for the reply.

Pretty much what i expected.

Ive lived Phillip Island, NW Tassie, Sydney, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast (both ends), Fraser Island, but use to go down to Kingscliff a bit when lived on the goldie and spent months on end living in vans when young mostly around Mid to North Coast NSW.

Next move i think will be somewhere warmer that's at least 3hrs from a major city , ideally somewhere with a low population 5,000 or less, that even if doesn't have great consistency has a wave or two that does get epic.

Yes Pop D but they aren’t moving here because we think the earth is 6000 years old. They’re coming for an economically better life.

If it came to pass here you may be made to leave Victoria and come live with us heathens up here.

sypkan Monday, 26 Aug 2024 at 03:26 pm new

bottom line is, people live, move, and align with culture they feel comfortable with / in...

antifa clowns are more dogmatic, righteous, (religious), and authoritarian than the worst of christian proselytisers...

you cannot make people conform to your radicalism

or more importantly, the state should not ever force conformity...

clowns like the frown, love to force their world view on people, and cheer on the government whenever they endeavour to do so...

'live and let live'

was once the very basis of 'western liberalism'

now, not so much...

not only is it an ideal, it's seems to work as a core base for a system that has been very successful

it encourages, free thought, creativity, and innovation...

whilst simultaneously giving the bottom feeders the feeling of freedom and relative empowerment

communist countries simply waste too many resources enforcing compliance. state resources...
but also human, physical, and $$$... but probably most importantly, by stifling their populations...

the success of western society is an ages old debate, even within, with arguments like 'the protestant work ethic' taking prominence..

it's interesting, because even non communist, 'free societies' like Japan seem limited by what they can innovate... they are excellent developers and honers of technology, but seem limited in terms of innovation...

seems the very asian virtue of conformity, and the importance of the group over individualism, has inhibiting outcomes... because they most certainly have the work ethic...

western culture is unique in many ways, good and bad...

those seeking to shut down all that has fostered it's 'advanced' standing, should take a cold hard look at themselves...

Maybe she should go and stay in Birdsville without aircon for a few weeks.
