Zero chance of that, we won't be allowed out until 2022. (unless you can comment to a long trip and come back and hotel quarantine)
I hope Indo opens to tourist this year at least it will let other countries hit Indo and then next year Aussies will flood the place.
Yeah it will suck watching other countries get their fix, but at least it wont be a flood of all countries all at once.
oh well gives me enough time to save for a decent trip and a few boards for the trip.
Might do a month at g-land as well at least the crowd there is limited to around 50 or 60 in three camps
when speedies is 2-5ft and throwing it doesnt seem like many like the takeoff and most prefer the much bigger size of moneytrees. with easier entry

If you got an exemption and stayed for 6-12 months doing a K. Lumpar trip in the middle to get a new social visa after six months im sure you wouldnt need to go into quarantine.

Yeah i know, it's just the hotel quarantine that is a deal breaker, 2 adults and 2 kids (about $5k) and then being stuck in a hotel room 24/7 with them for two weeks, i also work for myself so if i dont work i dont get paid so that factored in im a few more thousand out of pocket.(plus holiday)
I know im going to regret it one day as it's a once in a life time opportunity with how uncrowded it is, but it's also hard to justify from a $$$ perspective.
Ive just been saving over the last year and have saved some good money and will continue to save until borders open, i have a few bits of land in Indo near good waves, so viewing this all more long term and will build a nice house/villa and get a nice speed boat once it's over, so it kind of makes this all worth well.

I wish i had of taken up a mates offer of becoming an ex pat and teach english on a kitas. you only need around $50 a week to live if your renting longterm and that includes cigarettes and a beer or two.You get paid around $250 a week.
I stayed in Krui with an english teacher he only charged me about 300 000 rupiah to stay with him (with food) for 5 weeks and teach him more english. he only knew how to say hello mister!

Just been in touch with mate who has returned from Bali , flight home was $2400 Bali Jakarta Sydney , when he flew over December 2020 was $650 , rules me out this year as for 3 of us would cost roughly $16000 flights , visa and quarantine both ends .

Made the mistake of showing the father in law some photos of Indonesian trips this weekend. ( being a non surfer he was interested. I didn’t just start up a slide show... )
Anyway it was a big mistake as it’s just made my desire to get back to Indo and more specifically Grajagan to increase 10 fold.

here here Goofy im hangng for speedies..at least g-land camps have a maximum of 60 or so where as everywhere else in indo will be packed once gates are open. 60 is a managable number between kongs speedies, 20/20's and tiger tracks
A group of my old mates managed to stay in Maluk through covid, not sure how, they're not english teachers or anything but go every season for the full season. this time they're going for 18 months or so

Groundswell, at G-land thats about 60 PER CAMP..... so around 180 people total capacity, which I expect it will be when it opens up! (dammit)

Just had a quick flight check and Singapore airlines is flying Auckland-Denpasar for about $2700 return plus your return Hotel quarantine nz$3000 and a bunch of preflight covid test costs, and obviously somehow getting an Indo visa.
Transit through Singapore which can involve a long layover overnight in the airport if you don't want to enter Singapore
There has been a lot of talk of a travel bubble with Singapore too, same deal as what is going to happen with NZ no quarantine.
I wonder if it will be any easier to travel from Indo to Oz if via Singapore.

BTW. smart move by NZ they are going to be flooded with Aussies their tourism industry is going to boom.
