Yeah lot of negative misinformation around this issue.
Australia doesn't only have highest uptake of rooftop solar in the world, per captia Australia also has the highest solar capacity in the world next is Germany and we are 4th per captia for wind generated energy and even up there for battery capacity, and we have one of the fastest overall renewable uptake rates in the world.
There is an issue though, two steps forward one step back. (not to mention we dont have the luxury of having invested in much Hydro energy or Nuclear to support wind and solar like every single country that has achieved 100% carbon free energy or is close, ironically the Green lobby both strongly opposed these things for decades)
Yep Classic Swellnet 101
When you need to divert attention away post some lame anti Scomo meme.
Beating a story out of a corpse that previously played factional politics pretty hard and was definitely no wilting violet and reporting Morrison’s continued underperformance in the job he is paid to do are quite different things.
But hey cling on to what you can,
Wrong (again)….. https://www.abc.net.au/7.30/questions-raised-about-the-integrity-of-car…
Labor wants to take my money and give it to the lazy left losers, the libs want to take my money and give it to the big end of town. The only lever labor has to fight climate change is to make electricity so expensive only the rich can afford it. I have never voted liberal but the whole woke left victim culture makes it impossible for me to vote Labor. I will once again have to just write fuck you all on my ballot paper.
Come on Scotty , get it right.

If you’re dumb enough to vote, you are dumb enough to believe ‘em.
Just look to whats happening in Canada and the USA (eg. specifically passing policies that push the price of fuel up).....I really hope they are not models for our Labour party.
Old Dog, if your really old perhaps vote United Australia party rather than waste your vote, as they want to put the aged pension up $150 a week!…I was interested to read that the UAP was actually the original liberal party before the name change to liberal country party. It’s United Australia party origins in 1931 were Labor guys sick of the Labor party mixed with conservatives in a bid to help through the depression…..bit of trivia on a no waves day.
Interesting, Optimist (the original UAP had two Prime Ministers – Joseph Lyons and Robert Menzies)
But.... the original UAP dissolved in1945.
So, it needs to be pointed out that the currently United Australia Party (which started in 2013) is not related in any way to the original UAP.
Crikey rates as far left as Sky news rates to the right, both one click away from extreme.
Complete and utter leftist trash

Haha, they keep claiming these PMs as their own on their website. They also added Billy Hughes to the list. What a spin. https://www.unitedaustraliaparty.org.au/our-prime-ministers/
Been looking for exercise equipment Indo? Can really recommend hard rubbish as a place to start, plenty of iso purchases going out at the moment.
Seriously do vote.
Put Greens dead last Labor Second Last & LNP third last, then put parties you think might agree with before them all.
Im not a fan of all the freedom type parties as pro vax, but i still think if people like you support parties like United Australia party we can start fighting back against the whole "whole woke left victim culture" cause those guys wont take it and if say UAP can get a seat they can prevent Labor from doing the damage that they will try to do.
Ha ha honestly no and the missus hasn't been using my PC, so no idea why that ad came up, mustn't be an algorithm thing, I'm way to lazy to use an exercise machine or go to the Gym, much rather ride the bike or go for a surf to get exercise.
I can't fathom why anyone would ever vote UAP. What are their policies, besides 'Freedom' (whatever that is)?
No real policies apart from preference flow to the LNP
UAP are big on manufacturing in Australia it seems which is good. Pension to go up $150 per week which is really good. Stop exporting all our minerals and gas and value add here for cheap energy for business which makes sense…..housing important but I see no plan on their site….I don’t think Clive has much to do with it all except funding it as his baby and putting in his ideas some of which are just common sense…but, common sense in a few areas seems a bit lacking in the majors parties these days.
Obviously it's a protest vote against the major parties, if enough people vote for them they can pick up a seat at least in the lower house and then cause the party in power some headaches.
Preferences as we all know are decided by the voter, parties only recommend where to place preferences so preferences only flow to LNP if the voters wants them too.
Obviously they would have policies on their website.
Can promise the earth, but will never have to deliver on promises...thus people vote for them because they like the promises.
Stupid people vote for UAP
As you mentioned algorithms here's an interesting fact for you. I'm in SA and in the lead-up to the recent election, Swellnet was full of labor ads. Every time I came to the site labor was in my face. I didn't get these ads on any other websites.
What does that mean? What is their plan? Other than slogans.
OK, there's one plan, though unsure how it's costed.
Eh? Clive Palmer owns a company called 'Mineralogy', they export iron ore. Mineralogy also owned a company called 'Palmer Petroleum', which was their oil and gas arm (it collapsed in 2016 I think).
Housing is important to all political groups. Need to see a plan though.
I fail to see how a protest vote benefit anyone, other than the person trying to divide and conquer. In the case of UAP, Clive himself.
I'm not saying everyone should vote for either of the big parties. But, we are priveleged in this country to have a democratic voting system and people shouldn't abuse the opportunity.
Vote for someone who you strongly believe in, or whom you think will make a material improvement to our society.
Jeezus, sad reading some of these posters voting for UAP, Ben has nailed it.
palmer advertising talking about workers superfunds...is the funniest thing considering his past actions. yet, people lap it up and believe he cares.
Swellnet hasn't had an ad sales person for three years. So, we haven't directly sold any ads for a loooong time. They're all automated through Google.
As such, any ads you see on the site (subscribe and they'll all disappear!) are related 100% to your previous browsing history.
That doesn't mean you're a Labor voter, it means that the marketing person in Labor is paying Google Ads to advertise across a wide range of websites - including Swellnet - and they reckon they need to target someone like you.

UAP = populism. One of the most obvious populist examples in Australia.
"Can promise the earth, but will never have to deliver on promises...thus people vote for them because they like the promises.
Stupid people vote for UAP"
so, a bit like the greens then...
without the... "whole woke left victim culture"
and a protest vote
sounds like a win win win
"Vote for someone who you strongly believe in, or whom you think will make a material improvement to our society."
that's anyone other than labor and liberal
the material improvement part...
Ha ha that's weird, I've never had any political type ads on here, just weird stuff like watches and insurance, both things i havent googled or taken any interest in.
Yes, I understand that, I didn't want it to sound like you are selling political ads. I know, that's not how it works, I should've worded this better. My comment was around the algorithms themselves. I found it interesting that a lot of ads got placed in this particular place. That is obviously driven by my browsing history and I regularly check all the political parties leading into an election however, I wouldn't say that one stands out over the other. I've done a fair bit of advertising myself and it's crazy how many things one can target. I reckon most of the population would actually be terrified if they fully understood the capacity of these tools.
Yep exactly the same.
I agree but if people really don't want to vote directly for a major party, i think it's better they vote for someone like UAP as a protest vote rather than just throw away their vote altogether like some have said they may do.
While im personally not going to vote AUP i do kinda hope they pick up a seat in the lower house, because it will show both major parties that they overstepped the line in regard to personal freedoms/lockdowns travel etc.
It's looking like Covid madness has peaked, but it's not a 100% certainty, a new strain that is worst and more infectious could pop up and if Labor get in and have to deal with it chances are they may push to restrict personal freedoms more than LNP did on a national level (We saw it happen on a state level)
It is pretty easy not to bother with voting at all. They send you a card after each election, and just write 'migraine' in the appropriate place and your done until the next waste of time.
Indo, not having a go at you, but genuinely curious.
When you were young, you voting for the greens suggests you were concerned about the environment. What happened to that concern? And if it still exists, how do you reconcile it with voting LNP?
Clive told me in one of his ads the other nite that he wuz going to sort out all this farcial recognition and algrithm stuff that our sneaky government is doing at the moment. He also said he would keep my intrist rates at 3% whatever that means but sounded like a good idea. I think I'll take one half of my brain and go vote for Clive next time round!!!
All this talk of UAP and Palmer has got me pondering where is Villanelle when the country needs her ........ hahaha
Ukulele was pretty good…plus some other stuff.
he finally put china and all their shitfuckery on notice...
finally!
and finally made labor state their whimsical position on the matter...
(even if it was all lies and forced lip service)
"Indo, not having a go at you, but genuinely curious.

he probably still does care...
because the greens cared about the environment back then too
Greens ain’t natural no more…
When i was young like most I had no interest in politics and no understanding of the economy or many other issues, so like many and especially as a surfer and big Oils fan i thought the Green's sounded cool and I thought thats what the Greens are all about, (the environment) but really thats just the outer shell (as thin as eggs shell) of the greens, the interior is an ideology that i don't agree with.
Just because i will vote for the LNP this time (first time directly) doesn't at all mean i don't care for the environment, the reality is Australia has some of the strictest environmental practices in the world and on issues like climate change we are moving in the right direction, but its not the issue i base my vote on.
Im older now, i have a business and family the economy is the most important thing to me and recent history has show that the LNP are the best and safest bet to keep the economy healthy.
Some may argue Labor are just as good, but the reality is they have only been in power for less than six years out of the last twenty five years i dont think its a long enough period to make a judgement on and before that under Hawk & Keating they saw us end up in a terrible recession, and the way i heard Labor's treasurer talking the other day on ABC radio about aiming to ensure wages rise was scary as the ABC presenter pointed out that will push inflation even higher.
Personally i think the biggest problem with Labor is they always feel the need to make big changes, which is fine if big changes are needed but i dont believe they are, and big changes dont always go well they come with risk, while LNP is a party that just tinkers things when needed and keeps the boat on course..
The most important aspect, over 25 years without a recession, that ensured one of the most prosperous times in our history.(after Labors/keating's recession we had to have with interest rates hitting 17% and unemployment at over 10%)
Technically our time recession free was ended by Covid, but as we all know the Covid recession lasted weeks and barely was noticed, the real estate market did exactly the opposite of what happens in a recession and boomed, despite all the forecast from experts.
Currently the unemployment rate is at 4% the lowest since 2008.
Basically they got us through the biggest event of our lifetime Covid with the economy doing among the best in the world and one of the lowest Covid death rates in the world.
But hey what have they done???
Off course Albo and labor are going to magically prevent fires and floods and keep everyone happy, dream on honey.
One other thing we can thank the LNP for is securing our borders after Krudds big fk up too, imagine if during Covid we had thousands of people from Indonesia infected with Covid trying to enter Australia, it would have been a nightmare, Covid was a big wake up call for the left, it went from open borders open borders to close borders close borders....suddenly borders were important again
Well said ID. And this is why the LNP will win next election. Furthermore, the more Labour states, the less chance federal Labor has of getting into power.
Ha ha im flattered you spent the time to make a meme for me :D
Don't be. It took me about as long as it probably takes you to find the apostrophe button on your keyboard. Well, probably not that long.
