Just watched "Wanderlust " by Nick Colby.
Came with Tracks mag.
Unreal movie. Captures the spirit , personalities and places of an Aussie road trip beautifully.
Well done to every one involved.

Only ten minutes long and with some great period footage - Reno! BK! MP! - so it's worth a watch. It's put together by Alby Falzon which got me thinking about Morning of the Earth (also made by Alby Falzon) and the fleeting country soul movement.
Last Friday I watched 'In Natural Flow' by Steve Core, which was filmed in 1971 and makes absolutely no concession to country soul. The music is Deep Purple and driving blues/rock, the surfing mostly in the rip, tear, and lacerate formula filmed at Sydney, Kirra, and Lennox. The MP section is better than the MP section in MOTE.
Yet MOTE which was released a year later is an infinitely more succesful movie than 'In Natural Flow', and part of the reason is it purportedly captures the 'country soul' zeitgeist. But just how long did the zeitgeist remain if in '72 Falzon made MOTE and then just two years later he was filming the very antithesis to country soul, the Surfabout, a $7,000 professional event sponsored by Coca-Cola?
Just thinking. Trying to get my historical house in order etc.
