Nick X? Democrats? Palmer?

One Notion. PHONY.

The F.I.F.O (Foreign Invasion = Fruity Obsession) Party?

F.I.F.F.F.F.O (Fake Independents Fully Freaking Fearful Fools Out) Party?

F.O.F.I (Full Of Fucken Idiots)?

The youngsters behind Big Lez and Mike Nolan have a certain genius.

GuySmiley Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 07:15 am new

Facto you need to add a reference to the FNQ supporters of One Nation for accuracy. Without them the used cat’s litter brain would still be selling fish n chips.

Smokey moon last night! Very vibey.

Nice shots , Craig.

Apparently was the smokiest in memory this morning up the coast.

And the good news here ......I’ve entered that longed for surfing monk phase. Getting stronger and fitter again. Up at 4AM into a coffee Luwak and amping to hit the water.

No drinking, eating clean , surfing till I can’t move each day. Bed early and sleep well.

Got to love being in love with surfing. Got to love having your health.

Craig Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 07:52 am new

It's been day after day of stunning sunrises and sunsets with all this smoke, and it feels like the new norm. Not good but pretty.

And how good is getting into that routine, frothing on surfing and making the most of it, helps when it's great right in front of you. Enjoy!

velocityjohnno Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 09:04 am new

Been day after day of grey skies, on/off rain, strong westerlies and big swell down here, kind of like being in the setting of the children's book series "How to Train your Dragon", if any of you read it/read it to your kids.

Island Bay Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 09:35 am new

Well, I'm still alive. and we haven't got nasty bush fires to fret about.

A month and a half of northerly gales and total flatness, though. Not a ripple. Fucken hell, it's been dismal.

factotum Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 09:56 am new

Got to love the internet!

And Swellnet!

stunet Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 10:00 am new

Good stuff, Blowin.

Me, I'm making my own nasi goreng, chaining Gudangs, and shitting in the garden as I try to pretend I'm still over there. Wearing the same clothes day after day and waving hello at every schoolkid in Thirroul helps my act.

factotum Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 10:01 am new

Actually, got to love picking up a new board, and then going for a paddle.

And if it's a winner, going for a beer and a feed.

Actually, that'll be on the cards regardless.

Huzzah! There's my day set out.

stunet Thursday, 5 Dec 2019 at 10:04 am new

Gun? Shorty?

What label?

factotum Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 10:37 am new

Semi-gun.

Local. Rosey.

Dick n balls.

Haha. Wasn't ready either. Good feed & session, but.

And looks fucken sick.

Blowin Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 07:51 am new

How are your wounds healing , Stu ?

You got any Gudangs left ? Perhaps I could grab a packet for you if you’d like to celebrate Xmas belching fragrant smoke at your family like a pissy Puff the Magic Dragon ?

How good is being able to make someone smile and be happy just by saying hello ? We will probably go back in twenty years and those kid’s kids won’t even notice us as we would be just another tourist.

stunet Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 08:02 am new

The good news for me is that I got an invite to surf that Melbourne wavepool next week.

Though at present, it'll be a bodysurf.

Ligament and muscle damage in the left wing means I'll put the fins on and spear the rights.

TBB would be proud.

Blowin Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 08:09 am new

Stoked.....and devastated.

Will be interesting regardless. Just block your ears when everyone starts hooting each other’s rides.

stunet Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 08:42 am new

Even better news is via a mate on the south coast where last night a wind change saved his skin, not to mention the family house, when the flames were within 500 metres. "We're bloody lucky!"

Island Bay Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 08:42 am new

Damn, I miss Indo now!

Ran out of kreteks a few weeks ago, and it's been windy and flat. Could do with some of your Surf Monk life, Blowin.

Stu, I didn't realise how bad that was. Heal well, and enjoy the pool.

Facto, good luck with the new gun. Pics, please.

GuySmiley Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 10:02 am new

That is good news Stu, been on the south coast for a couple weeks now and never seen it so dry, even Bega is brown! We were heading for just north of Batemans Bay exactly where the fire burnt to the water but needed to stay further south. Smoke haze everyday and fierce winds seemingly from unseasonal directions. No surf. I’m hoping for rain because the locals need that desperately, it’s so dry it’s like a different place, nothing like I’ve seen before.

factotum Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 11:08 am new

Board building abandoned and beers sunk because it's fucking roasting over here.

Feeling the pain over there, comrades. We don't want it over here again.

Thoughts and prayers and beers.

Big Xmas show later today. Free piss. Strap yourself in...

Blowin Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 04:32 pm new

Today is pushing towards a 9/10 .

Waves this morning started small and glassy . Post surf breakfast of amazing fresh fruit salad and a mixed juice ( Mango , banana , no sugar ) .

Then it’s back to the waves and a little rising swell saw sheet glass , crystal clear , piss warm 4 foot rights rolling down the reef like an epic , beltable point break. Shared it with about 5 or 6 punters on a guided tour who had zero idea where to sit or how to catch a wave.

They’re ineptitude was glorious to behold. Friendly and harmless....perfect combination.

Then I grabbed a seafood nasi goreng and listened in to the crew at the table next to me as they had a meeting discussing possible agriculture for the local area. One of them was a representative of the Indo fisheries minister and another was a Chinese businessman looking to buy in to the area.

Sure , the talk was OK but the real Indo joy shone when they got up to leave and the fella - who spoke English - was revealed to be wearing this shirt.

How is that not a good time ?

Wind is still light. Another surf on the cards.

Westofthelake Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 04:40 pm new

Tough job Blowin, but aye someone's got to do it.
Got any wave pics?

Blowin Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 04:59 pm new

Not really ,mate. I don’t take photos of the waves too often. Put this up the other day on a different thread. Nothing mind blowing, just pretty !

Cheers Blowin. Pretty magical.

goofyfoot Friday, 6 Dec 2019 at 09:24 pm new

So are you in the pink or white blowin?

Ps. epic tale on the other thread, I'm going fuckn loopy here with the lack of surf

Blowin Saturday, 7 Dec 2019 at 07:35 am new

Neither mate .

I’m just out of frame in a huge overcoat with glistening hands from all the Vaseline.

Blowin Saturday, 7 Dec 2019 at 08:38 am new

Just having a good look at that heaving little pit that Mitch Crews is steering through at the Urbn surf pool and thinking to myself....” Perfect wave to body bash when you’ve got an arm like a yabby *”

Out there , Stu !

* Crawchy / gilgy

You may not like Midnight Oil, The Family Dog, or anything else Jim Moginie is part of, you may not even like Jim Moginie, and truth be told he's not much to look at and has diabolical suburban dad dress sense, but if you don't think drinking beer in a Country Women's Association hall with a huge grassed area for kids to run around, on the (almost) longest day of the year, five days out from Christmas is a good idea, then I don't think we're going to get along.

Blowin Saturday, 7 Dec 2019 at 06:14 pm new

Ten bucks to the person that yells out to play some Chisels.

Blowin Sunday, 8 Dec 2019 at 07:41 am new

Good news is that last night I was woken by the sound of a torrential downpour. Unfortunately, it’s not landing in NSW where it’s a life or death requirement, but Australia isn’t the only place in desperate need of rain and it’ll be hugely appreciated.

Beyond that , it’s just the nicest sound in the world when heavy rain lands on a dry landscape and drums through the roof above you.

Downside being that it’ll probably liberate and unleash 8 months of dry season rubbish buildup into the previously crystal clear water . If only it was just tonnes and tonnes of plastic instead of tonnes and tonnes of plastic floating in a soup of accumulated disease and filth .

I heard that a surfer caught cholera or some such medieval disease in a lagoon around here after the first rains a few years ago . The urban myth of a developing nation or an unpleasant fact ? Who knows ?

There’s been a couple of dugongs hanging around the lineup lately who I’ve come to consider as benevolent spirits , fingers crossed that they don’t mistake a Pop Mie container for seaweed. Although if that were to happen and they didn’t suffer for it , at least you know they’d never be facing starvation with the endless Pop Mie container bounty on offer in these waters.

uncle_leroy Monday, 9 Dec 2019 at 01:18 pm new

Very good news would be chicken wire, rocks and a one way trip out over the continental shelf, but good news on this low life being caught in the act and charged. Hundreds of people have already been through the wringer with these fires, the last thing they need is oxygen thieves like this causing more grief.

Stoked to snowboard into December in the Australian high country.

Here I am taking the surfing to the mountains..

Thanks for the shot Tyson Millar!

zenagain Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 10:46 am new

That's a great shot. Amazing so late in the year.

Is that the K2 board you bought in Japan?

Craig Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 10:54 am new

Cool eh!

Yeah it is, though my flat mate's been using and he's goofy. Haven't ridden it in years, strap in and go... this is weird and then realised second run haha.

Also more here Zen..

It took the genius of the Indonesians...

Fusion cuisine with mie goreng noodle chips.

Two bucks from the IGA. Don't look at the ingredients.

Blowin Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 02:00 pm new

Chitatos aren’t too bad . Seaweed flavour #1.

Noticed the little warning on the label ?

“ May contain traces of food and nutrients “

zenagain Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 02:36 pm new

Sent you an email Stu, hopefully you get it in one piece.

Should go nicely with your chips.

stunet Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 02:39 pm new

Oh right...it's for the thread. Was wondering about the messaging there.

A different kind of fusion food:

zenagain Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 02:44 pm new

Yes, for the thread.

When I'm peckish, I say- "make mine Homo!"

Blowin Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 02:44 pm new

Man, I fucking love Indonesia.

I didn’t take this photo , but it’s worth showing to illustrate the flamboyant positivity of the average Indo ie “What could go wrong !?!?”

Agree x 100!

Indo is the most incredible cure for western jaded semi-depro syndrome.

Blowin Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 04:43 pm new

Homo sausage ....aisle three in the supermarket.

Look for the handy glory hole dispenser .

Island Bay Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 05:51 pm new

They've got that in Japan, too!

Ah, I should have scrolled up a bit.

But isn’t this the most beautiful wave you’ve ever seen ?

Im getting that painted on the ceiling above my bed . Right beside the mirror .

Westofthelake Wednesday, 11 Dec 2019 at 11:01 pm new

Remember this one? Deadly yet beautiful.

Blowin Thursday, 12 Dec 2019 at 03:52 pm new

Good news is that Indo has probably 90 percent less garbage in the water than this time last year at this particular location. The rains which disperse a lot of shit are late ( virtually non existent) , but they were this time last year too.

I’d say it’s definitely the ban on plastic bags having a huge impact.
