Sounds like Swellnet
Cloud capital’s first miracle is to get us to work for free to replenish and enhance its stock and productivity with every text, review, photo, or video that we create and upload using its interfaces. In this manner, cloud capital has turned hundreds of millions of us into cloud-serfs – unpaid producers, toiling the landlords’ digital estates and believing, like peasants believed under feudalism, that our labor (creating and sharing our photos and opinions) is part of our character.
Or should that be cloud-surfs.

haha... 'its'the model'

I cannot believe the time and effort that goes into those clearly fake fb vids where some half naked half hot chick teases the audience with her getting out of a speeding ticket or falling in a pool ...or, as I saw this morning, a boyfriend potentially eploding a coke bottle mentos bomb up her vagina, while she's 'unaware'... 15 mis of drawn out suspense and wiggling buttcheeks... and... nothing...

I cannot believe the time I put into that too

Visited this amazing collection of medical esoterica, sexual fetishism and general weirdness a few years ago. At no time was I under the impression that it perpetrated "a version of medical history that is based on racist, sexist and ableist theories and language”.
It was a collection made by a very wealthy man from his travels and represents an interesting view of medical history and the cultural practices surrounding it

As a rule, and this applies across the political spectrum, FJ videos included, I veer away from the drama heavy rubbish posted frequently on YouTube by that fat potato and other New Woke folk like Russell Brand. Brand even says, without any irony, that his channel is for those people who are "awakening"

If people haven't yet realised it, they're using the same tactics to get views as MSM, and though they may not have the same corporate clout - and hence bias - they make up for it with a serious lack of context and research.

I agree with some of what Brand says, same as I agree with some of what JP says, and other commentators too, but the whole New Woke movement loses me with their radical histrionics. I struggle to bother with it. Posting vids like the above as some sort of 'gotcha' means jack.

Every other video "proves" a truth, or it has "damning evidence", or someone's a "fraud". It's become an endless cycle of shallow news without even the payoff of sport and Tim Bailey at the end.

"After being unable to reach Sachs on his home telephone, Brand and his co-host of the week, fellow Radio 2 DJ Jonathan Ross, left Sachs four voice messages on his answering machine. In the first message, Brand joked about Fawlty Towers and the fact that both he and Sachs had appeared in The Bill, but was interrupted by Ross shouting out "he fucked your granddaughter". The rest of the message and the following three messages were all characterised by Brand and Ross attempting to apologise for Ross' outburst, but each quickly descended into farce; for example, Brand sang to Sachs: "It was consensual and she wasn't menstrual", and Ross asked to marry him."

Definitely relevant to the era we live in Flollo. No chance of being a vlogger/youtuber back in the 70's but back then a racing car driver was probably high on the priority list and comparable I suppose.
I tell you what though - my office chair is a far cry from the drivers seat of John Player Special Lotus I was hoping to drive.

I agree with the actions taken. I live in the south east of SA and some areas get over run at times. Supposed to be self contained campers and caravans in designated areas only. But there’s tents and swags getting put down for multiple nights in the bush, car parks and on cliff edges miles from the nearest toilets. You end up with faeces, toilet paper, rubbish, dogs getting around unrestrained, random fire pits, damaged scrub, etc. Even saw two caravans stay overnight on the street at the Port Mc foreshore and they hooked their water hoses up to the nearest taps. Admittedly they were pretty close to the toilet block but between them they took up a heap of parks as it is angle parking there. Free camping, what a joke. Someone else and or the environment ends up paying.

AndyM Tuesday, 6 Dec 2022 at 11:00 am new

My recollections may be off but I kind of think Australian has come full circle in this regard.
Feels like in the 70's and 80s it was a bit of a yob free-for-all.
Camp where you want, do what you want.
Then we had a period in the 80s, 90s and maybe into the 2000s where there were affordable managed campsites. I suppose the affordability was due in part to less pressure on them and lower relative real estate values.
Then we moved into a period where some smaller national park campgrounds were closed down and others were "formalised" and prices increased substantially.
At the same time, private camping areas went "eco cabins" which tended to be prohibitively expensive, or were sold off for development.
So now we're at a situation where established private campgrounds are fucking exxy, national parks campgrounds are (generally) far from cheap and travellers, regardless of how much money they have are looking for the free ride.
We've got a lot more people and less organised sites, and those sites are a lot more expensive and often unbearably crowded. I remember being down at Diggers Camp a few years ago and it was so busy that crew were camping pretty much under the elevated long-drop shitter. I'm sure you could have heard the shit plopping into the tank.
So now in places we're back at the free-for-all yobfest with a pared down council and NPWS workforce barely able to police it.
The big bonus here is the rise in Youcamp type websites which can yield awesome places to stay.
Australia's predicted to have another 6 million people in the next 20 years so it looks like those quiet remote places will be fewer and fewer, and they'll be more formalised, more regulated and more expensive.

thermalben Tuesday, 6 Dec 2022 at 11:22 am new

Gotta say Andy, I do a lot of camping (generally within a 3 hour driving range) and haven't had the same experience. Perhaps I'm a little better with the timing of my trips (I have heard other horror stories, but from camps that I wouldn't go to anyway).

I wouldn't call the National Parks camps overly expensive either, for what you get.

Only main that is shitful right now is the traffic from the Gold Coast through the Sunshine Coast. What's normally three hours took five the last time I went through (for no apparent reason either.. i.e. no accidents). So, our default setting is somewhere south or west.
