These stats are really not much of a surprise you would imagine 90% plus people in high risk groups would be fully vaxed and even when fully vaxed are still at a much higher chance of death than anyone else, often not just old, but obese and with other health issues, they are basically sitting on a cliff edge many things can push them over that edge very easily.
Plus you could imagine many older people would be double jabbed 6 months ago or longer and think they are still all good, but in reality aren't very protected anymore unless get a booster.
