Ozone depletion had little to do with global warming and was a demonstrably real event, only stopped when CFCs were universally banned. In fact there were recurrences when large quantities of CFCs were illegally released in China a few years back. Though not scientifically connected to AGW it shows trace elements in the atmosphere can have enormous implications.
