Jeez Stu a lot of that surfing would still hold up to CT events these days,( maybe no air reverses but they get boring) and especially the bigger stuff, charging.

Udo just watched that Nathan Florence vid of Pipe. That was all time. Highly recommend anyone to watch it, some of the best Pipe surfing you'll see from a week or so ago. But....BUT!!! The footage of John John, at big chunky Sunset (i think) is the highlight. He's taken those turns that he did a few years ago at Margarets and turned them into something that resembles a fighter jet roaring through a full speed arc. Mesmerising. Good luck not having involuntary screams at the screen as he does em. So sick!!! I think its around the 14min mark.

watched that JJ bit about 10 times full screen and at all diff speeds..

I watched that honolua clip earlier this week...I was imagining William Finnegan in one of those tubes, standing in a christ-on-the-cross pose, on acid and about to get rag-dolled.
Not exactly a random surf clip, but a bit of time has passed since it was made, I watched it yesterday, and i reckon i'd go as far as saying it's possibly my favourite surf film/doco ever. There's some epic epic stories in there. Could be just cos i love fiji though. :-P
worth the 6bucks to rent it.

If that's the spot im thinking it is a lot of locals claim its better than Shark Island..
imo that's only because they dont get any scraps out the island from the tighknit crew..anything tasty is taken unless its a small grower into 8 foot surge, those are predictable but hard to see when they are coming..when you see that signal though make your move onto inside whiterock and get into it asap, two foot lump wedging into a 8 foot high ten foot wide beast..waves you will always remember.
I used to live near the spot featured and never bothered surfing it due to the amount of great whites, juvys and adults..long way from shore...one of the only decent reefbreaks on the entire coal coast besides sandon point..which is also over rated...well the takeoff can be tricky after that super fun to carve up the long fast walls... on smaller days you are skimming past the inside rocks.
Rent at that place has quadripled in 10 years.
