Two sub 50 first innings by close tonight followed by 3 days of rain. Sportsman's declaration by Root on day 5 at 120 runs, Uzzi hits a century, with 6 off last ball to win?
Uzzis gonna need someone to go w him for that century blackers! Unlikely at moment.
If it was a day game, you'd be tempted to dust off some early 20th century tactics - reverse batting order - but with the twilight session to come (if they make it that far) ...
Sounds like Labuschagne and Head have summed up the conditions - one's gonna have your number sooner or later so might as well have a crack in the meantime!

Agreed Pops. Great counter attack on the 2nd string bowlers. Fun to watch.
Labuscagne's effort was hilarious. Completely misread it. Shame coz he was showing some grit, and there is something very dislikable about Broad. He always has the look of someone who has bowled a peach even when he bowls junk 90% of the time. Unfortunately he then somehow finds a jaffa.
Great innings from T. Head. Agree Pops, came in with the team in trouble and played his game.
Wonder what the score would have been if England batted first..
Agree Craig, but then what? Can't believe they "rested" Anderson. Broad can't do it all, Woakes is just a trundler, Pope did well in his first 5 but then what? Wood bowls fast but doesn't trouble the bat. Will be interesting to see it oan out. Unless it rains it will not go 5 days.
I was in the car for all of the first session. Was it a really tricky pitch, good bowling or poor shot selection or all three?
Good recovery to get to this point though.
Agree blackers. Unfathomable to leave Anderson out.
The ball was swinging a mile. Good bowling, greeeeeen pitch and overcast. Hard to bat.

Would have been interesting to see how Indiana would have performed on the same wicket. ;-) Yeah cheers for the headsup etarip!
Looking at it now. That pitch looks the same as the outfield!
Haha, real tough wicket BD. Even those Indiana-ians would have struggled…
Oh dear. Not the start they would have wanted, Burns run out for a duck.
Fun fact, Scotty Borland scored more than the combined total of Warner,, Khawaja, Smith and Starc. The new allrounder?
Bloody love him Blackers. Instantly slotted into the most prestigious sports team in Australia in one test.
I honestly reckon the biggest question of the English test team coming out of this ashes series is, will Joe Root again?? Ouchee!! And he's gone!! woohoo!
Poms were looking good at 2fa 70 odd.
And then it all came tumbling down.
Great catch by Gary.
Haha, great catch. I reckon Pat has Joe sorted, keep hitting him in the nuts from a good length then pitch one up. Poor bloke must have to bathe them in ice after each innings.
Aussies need to be just a bit careful here... could be a critical session.
True linez and good to see Khawaja digging deep. The way the ball is moving a lead of 250 should probably do it.
Been some good bowling from England. They just need to maintain this intensity and they’ll make it harder for Australia to get away from them.
Looks like a prick for batting. Boland looks like a solid night watchman..
Marcus Harris starting to look like a reasonable opener given recent events in Hobart!

Will be over by stumps? I hope they rough up Wood a bit given how he bowled at Boland last night.
