Embarrassing songs that you love.
Saw them live too. Always liked them and Mark Knopfler is a master of his craft.
Telegraph Road. Beautiful song.

@groundswell - re Dire Straits I like em too GS . Saw them in concert in Brisbane. Great show.
Was that the ‘ brothers in arms ‘ tour ? That was such a special concept in Brisbane, full moon , crystal clear night with every star shining , one of the best concerts I’ve seen.
Imagine a world where the best tune smiths fly under the radar.
The singer goes from band to band becoming more obscure as he goes.
Everyone sings his songs but none ever care to pin up his poster!
Yet, there he stands in plain sight...centre of attention...How is it so?
Thanks to seeds & swellnet we can out this Chameleon!
We're not alone....On one of these tracks...re: YouTube comments > punter also reveals the master!
He is known to those who enjoy each of these tunes...which is pretty easy as they're high rotation.
Guess this Musical Artist deserves a dedication...Salute to the master of Groovy Tunes.
UK Psychedelic Flower Power Band (re: 2 Deep Purple members in the touring band)
tbb is cuing this tune to show Tony's range & background > ( UK / SoCal Beach Boys / Flower Power)
Can hear : Bee Gees / US Pet Sounds Harmonies meets prog lush Moody Blues layering...
Note: This song is not catchy as such...more so a respected singalong!
1967 The Flower Pot Men ~ Lets Go to San Francisco
1970 Flower Pot Men Singer Tony Burrows charted worldwide hits with 4 different groups
Some of his original Flower pot Men appear alongside Tony as he digs in his infectious hooks!
It's the high quality nature of these embarrassing hooks that wins over the listener...none will feel dirty!
The tunes are cleverly crafted & instantly infectious...resistance is futile!
1970 White Plains ~ My Baby Loves Lovin
1970 Edison Lighthouse ~ Love Grows
1970 The Pipkins ~ Gimme Dat Ding
1974 First Class ~ Beach Baby
Salute to Tony Burrows
Classic string of catchy hits that deserve attention all these years later!

Saw Dire Straits at Hordern Pavilion on the brothers in arms tour.
Yeah, special concert.
Some old school breakdance battles and earliest Ice T footage I’ve seen. Bit of Turbo from the old breakdance movies in there too.
Embarrassing band but Wes is a great guitarist, written some sick riffs.
I got a job with stanley, this morning at 4:50 , and you cant be embarrassed about the stones or any of the above. i enjoy what everyone posts here or in the tunes thread cheers wilhem get's me through the monotonous reality tv chat at work, or pumped for a swell chase or chart check.
I love it. Great song but it’s a bit delusional. The English never took land that wasn’t theirs. Except that time they broke up those terra nullius wars. Bless ‘em

The Melbourne version not such a singer. More just a “I’ll wing ya carnt” No criminal history! Must have been the Rebel’s pastor. I’m glad Lidia might be nearly a badged member. Such good she can do for the trees then. Amazing?
Facetious off course!!
wow so much amazing talent!! Dean Martin, the Stones!
Have to put this in here, the final cut by Pink Floyd.
Around 20 years ago, when me and some close mates where baking a cake in the middle of knowhere in NZ, a case of aged whiskey and some good tunes, it was bliss! Not a phone anywhere!

Re kindled by a couple of locals playing it at a Mushroom Bay restaurant recently over 3 nights.
That's gold WS.
The melvins doing the Buttholes "Graveyard" came up in my mix the other day and my 9yr old girl said it was giving her a headache. What better recommendation can you get?
Not as headache inducing as some of that Zorn stuff tho.
Love it SF.
How big is old mates head and how lame is Bon. Funny stuff but who doesn’t sing along to this song? I do.
Classic video. The hair, the clothing, the clothing company names:

Thought the exact same thing Stu...
Gaylords : Toot Toot Root...(Drool!)
Don't mess with my Toot Toot Root...I'm gonna breaka yer face!
Wotz a Toot Toot Root (You know when ya suck on the end of toilet paper rolls)...say wot!
Back before trendy Bog Roll Knife Fights...folks would sing thru their Tootie arse holes...(re: Kazoo!)
Wotz not to like...Embarrassing shithouse Hodad songs...gotta luv that!
OMG...Please don't go there tbb...sorry...way too late!
Bonus Poop Scoop! (How to make yer very own Bog Roll Kazoo)...that's so gross!
Shithouse oversized Grom Version...fark...luv this tripper! Very reason YouTube was invented! BOOM!
Pretty sure this dude is simply recycling his Bog Roll Bongs!
match made in heaven WS, Lennon's introspection with TT's pointless brand of part Goon, part post-war wax-cylinder contralto warbling. Pure as.

Basesix. Straight from Optimist’s Spotify.
I don’t know about you, but i had my Kelpie’s Cross bespoke made. Clips onto the collar and off he goes, weighed down somewhat, but still a trooper, on the odd occasion i seeing on his knees praying for that femur in the sky.. A bit of fun, hope you are well,AW.
Haha, ah Optimist. There's a wave upon the sand... into the hinterland sunset to learn how to be a better people. Seeds misses him, wouldn't go that far, but I wish him well. You're taking care-packages out to him aren't you JF?
I liked that.
Is there rumblings amongst the youth? Has republican discontent never gone away?
A GOON IN THE DAY TIME
A GOON IN THE NIGHT
Dedicated to the 24/7 Swellnet goons out there. You know who and what you are. Embarrassing.
