Clips like that only reinforce how good Mel's paddle barrel was. Sitting very deep with no chance of escape when the Hmax data delivers itself on the reef.

The more I watch Pete Mel's wave, the more impressed I am. It was truly groundbreaking. The drone video you posted of the huge day showed lots of tow surfers looking for that line, but none really finding it.

Thanks Udo. Always enjoy Mason Ho's clips, he could surf a brick but good to see him on an old school (reinvented?) shape. A RNF back in the day saved me. I was fat and unfit with a crook back. A local shaper (Ross Slaven) shaped me a chunky fish and it literally saved my surfing.
