Tunes

Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.

Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.

cover released with video package for new PQ album. Top notch output as always, leaning more heavily in to talking heads vibes with some krautrock (black widow spider) and dance grooves (plant life, sympathy for life) thrown in.

Austin Brown noted: "I didn’t really feel like making another rock record. This whole scene of these massive indie rock festivals, seeing the way musicians are treated like faux celebrities, and the way minor indie musicians get worshiped in this unidirectional way — there’s the group on stage, everyone’s looking at them, and thinking they’re the most important people just because they happen to be the loudest. I got really into dance music and realized in those environments, the music is the thing that connects everybody."

Brown started attending nights out at the famed dance party venue The Loft in New York City, describing his experiences as "subversive, anti-establishment, progressive, and also the most enriching American psychedelic experience that has been created. This was something I really wanted to carry into the process of creating our new record." Savage's own songwriting contributions were influenced by taking the drug acid while attending the gym: "It all started one day when I went to the gym on acid. I just felt like, 'I'm a fucking machine here, I'm killing it'. Something about the psychedelic experience gives you this mind over matter thing. I not only have my wonderful physique to be thankful for, but it also started this songwriting process for me. I guess it could be considered a performance-enhancing drug to some degree."

this is just as good if not better than the album version imo...bit of piano and sax for this overcast morning here in the hills

full visual album vid found here:

also, they're touring in July. great live act and worth checking out

Lovely work gents. Nice to hear P Courts are touring, may have to get myself along to one.
Beck is another one who has grown over the years, but I do like the stuff from his backwoods days.

After greenday in 1995 in highschool this band got me more into 90's American punk rock which as everyone knows is a bit different to 80's punk but i love this track all the same.

Heard it on a snowboard segment with Daniel Franc who at the time was one of the best at mystys etc.

Hey Rob, been flogging that Beck track you posted earlier in the week. Great to give his older catalogue a good listen through. Cheers

If we're doing Beatles, gotta throw this groove in to the mix
