Would have been girls from Java or other Islands working as freelance hookers to service the local miners in the area hence why so carefree, local girls would never do that, it would bring huge shame on the family if rumours came about it in the community and locals could seriously come with you with a lynch mob if did that to a local girl even with consent, beach is most likely a pick up point for freelancers, they may or may not have wanted money latter if continued some of these girls are just happy to be with a westerner because find most of us attractive and exotic or because have money and would dream of becoming your girlfriend (not the kind of Indo girl you want to get involved with though)
These girls i guess are technically hookers but it's not a career choice, it's more something most do for a year or two then make money and go home to the village in Java cashed up to buy a home or start a business etc, they generally tell the family they have a job in Bali in tourism to cover their arse.
Its like in Bali nightclubs its rare to come across Balinese girls most are from Java a few from other islands, lot of well off girls from Jakarta on holiday these days but a lot of girls are just there to hook up with foreigners for money. (but often if like you won't even ask for money)
BTW. the tan would be irrelevant Indo girls generally love the opposite of brown skin, most love white skin, bigger noses, eye colours other than black or brown a big plus same with hair colour other than black, boards and bike would hurt though. (BTW. they still love westerners with black hair and brown eyes or a tan too)
PS. Just for the record no my wife was not one of these girls, she still lived at home(good family) when i met her and worked as a radio presenter and had never drunk or even been to a nightclub and never been to Bali or even been on a plane.
But yes when i was young i hooked up with lots of these girls, but i soon realised it was also easy and a lot more fun to hook up with the girls on holiday from Jakarta, actually I learnt a lot of Bahasa Indonesia from these girls, most are really cool chicks, occasionally there is the dodgy one though who tries to rip a foreigner off. (Etc steal money from wallet when asleep)

Good one Blackers. Heard this for the first time on JJJ yesterday. It's Doctor Karls number 1 pick for the hot 100. The video compliments the song too - but not a Chaise Lounge to be seen. Fun one for summer, but don't see much longevity for this song.

Alright, time for some discussion on what yr all listening too. My iTunes inventory is getting a little stale so I'm up for some inspiration.
Currently loving The Drones' album "Havilah".. incredible songwriting and some of the best recorded guitars and drum I've heard in a long time. I'm a little late to the party with this album but it's on high rotation at the moment and will probably stay there a while. I've seen these guys live once (Fowlers, Adelaide) and fortunately they're incredible on stage too. Can't wait to see them again.
