Not normally my kind of surfing, but fuck I'll happily make an exception for Albee and Matt.
When you have had enough of the bedlam, fast forward to 9.40 to see a fit looking Laird Hamilton followed at 10.11 by a young lady experiencing the pure joy of surfing.
Big Jordy surfing better than ever. Last part, 15.30 onwards, makes a mockery of CT surfing - and, dare I say it, J-Bay.

That Mick Fanning video is unreal. Seen most of them before but packaged together it's incredible.
^ there's couple of kids from legian boardriders atm that go pretty hard, and have people talking.. the youngest with hella potential is gede darma wisesa.. he's 11

There are so many wonderful Balinese surfers here and what a pleasure it is to surf with them .
I checked out a three day Contest , that was going on at Padma St , as an old Rye teammate that has moved here , had a friend Yunus , surfing .
Yunus had an Australian that changed his life , good old Mick Pierce !
Mick got to know his family and decided to help Yunus with some surgery about 20 years ago .
Brought him to Oz , introduced him to hail and meat pies and organised a mate to do the surgery ( a $30k operation ) which changed the kids life .
Yunus is now a Leader in the surfing community , his son and nephew were surfing in the contest , as well .
The Balinese seem to really enjoy surfing with an Old fart like me , often hooting when paddling out , seeing me enjoying a wave .
Always happy to chat , don't paddle in front of me when I am going to Pop UP and always smiling !
Now there must be 100 Balinese surf instructors , around the beaches helping everyone , get the experience of catching a wave .
Whole families were down the beach , cheering on the surfers in the contest .
Yunus's nephew won a heat , with a buzzer beating wave and we went bananas !
He came in with a smile , but was very humble , looked up at the judges , brought his hands together and bowed his head , a lovely sign of respect and gratitude !
Was surfing the Right , next to the contest and could hear the commentators , so clearly .
Giving score updates , priority colours and just having so much FUN , often yelling " do something " :)) !
When I first came here 40 years ago , I didn't see locals surfing .
Then saw a few , but always on crap equipment .
Today , the kids are flying on beautiful new boards .
I really hope I get to see a Balinese World surfing champ !
They sure can surf and have Guts galore .
Have had 14 surfs in a row , gosh the swell has been perfect 4 the beach breaks ( head to 2 times O/H ) .
Today it's too big , will pack the board and give my body a break , before it breaks :) and head home tomorrow , very happy .
Bali really is , surfers paradise !
